Millers Reign at Homecoming Coronation kicked off what turned out to be a long homecoming weekend. It was held Thursday night and although it rained, the show went on. Helen jones was crowned queen and her princesses were: Tereska Buzek, Katie Anderson, Michelle Burgess, and Sue Pikal. joel Groethe was pronounced king and in his court were: Bruckner Johnson, Joel Nelson, Mark Thurner, and Jay Miller. They were entertained by three talented musicians: Doug Schmidt, Sanford Jones, and Nicole Montgomery. On Friday afternoon, the annual pepfest was held to get the crowd psyched. The cheerleaders led the bunch with rousing cheers, the Millermates danced energetically, and the Student Council did their own version of the Newlywed Game , with the freshmen emerging as the winners. All that energy was then converted into the feet of the students who attended the dance that night at school. The band of the evening was Kasmir who provided a number of popular dance tunes to get down to. The spirit continued through the weekend until Monday when our postponed game was played on the new field. The game proved to be a victorious one. The Millers triumphed over the Indians by a score of 6-0, which culminated a fun-filled weekend. Homecoming 9
