Ritter Mathematics can be an important factor in a students future. The program here at Washburn recognizes that fact and is designed to give everyone that wants it a chance to develop this skill. Courses range from concepts all the way to calculus. Brand new this year are the math team, for those interested in math outside of school, and the math intervention program for those students who need extra help.

Special Education The Special Education teachers help students who are having difficulty in the area of reading and math. They also provide assistance to students having difficulty with mainstream curriculum. HOW 1: H. Banks, E. Persha ROW 2: A. I ehmeyer, G. Pudas. G. Dalasta The department operates out of room 312, and it provides an invaluable service to our school. The Work Coordinators help students who want to work while they continue in their high school course work. The program especially helps students who plan to enter the work force directly upon graduation. 13

English Because English is required throughout the four years at Washburn, many courses are offered to add interest and diversity to this valuable subject. The courses include mythology, Shakespeare, theater, humanities, newswriting, and A. P. English as well as standard English. Wolk A large amount of today’s student population at Washburn will probably hold an office related job sometime in their lives. Business Our Business Department teaches some of the many skills needed in such a situation.
