SNOW WEEK This year’s Snow Week began with a rousing pep fest featuring the new Millcrmcn dance line performing to the tunc of “Down to the Bone. Paul Pettersen and Joyce Dingley were the well chosen royalty for the legging and guerning contest. In the tug-of-war competition, the mighty senior men prevailed over all other contenders, including the sophomore girls who won the female competition. Dan Walsh won the honor of being hit in the face with a pic to benefit his class spirit committee. His sister, Trish, came up with the highest auction price and was able to take care of all sibling frustration with one swing. Later on in the week, all four classes of women got together for the Powder Puff football game. The senior girls, coached by Robert Jones. Don Williams, and Larry Molkc were irrcvokably the champions. Also included in the activities were a snow sculpture contest and of course the Snow Week dance Friday night.

Millwheels celebrated its thirtieth anniversary this year. Director Robert Krause says that with about 1300 people attending, it was the largest Millwheels audience ever. The show was in three acts, starting with “The Time Warp” from ’‘Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Other dazzling performances were done by Deanne Sample, the Miller-mate can-can girls, “The Trio,” The Flour City Dreamers.” and the juniors in their production of “Grease,” to name a few. Each act was exceptional. Student director Amy Rogers attributes this to the unusual cooperation of each participant during the course of organization. The show displayed the truly outstanding diversified talents of Washburn. 27
