Co-editors L. Weston. B. Roth GRIST Few people knew what went on in the Grist room this year. A group of senior writers churned out a school paper approximately every two weeks. Plagued with broken typewriters and faulty furniture, the Grist staff succeeded in giving newsworthy information and describing positive aspects of school life. Fulmer CHORALIERS Performing in school concerts and in the surrounding area, Washburn’s seven choral groups offered fine entertainment. Choraliers had a varied repertoire, including songs from ‘‘Oliver!” Girls Choir experimented with Russian songs and other styles of music. Madrigals, Jazz Singers, and Golliards practiced once a week after school. This year the Madrigals participated in a Madrigal Festival at Armstrong High School and the Jazz Singers performed at the Fuller Community Center dedication. Golliards, in its second year, also worked with great varieties of music. Sophomore Singers, a preparatory group, and Mixed Choir rounded out Washburn’s collection of superb choirs. 70 ROW 1: L.
