Sophomores study American literature. Juniors are very privileged, because Washburn is one of the few schools in the city to teach Shakespeare as a one-semester course. Regular English instruction is offered the other semester. Seniors may choose between regular English, creative writing, or business English. Each one of these classes studies English literature, but emphasis is placed on different aspects of English in the other parts of the course. Regular English instruction is the most popular among seniors. Robert Krause: English, Drama, Stage Crew Adviser, Class Play Adviser. Miss Mary Laird: French, English. 8
