Dedicated To . . . Presentation of '76 Chequamegon We the senior class of 1976 proudly dedicate the annual to Mr. James C. Strom, who we feel helped us the most in our past 4 years. He helped us all the way through the first 3 years and came to help us at the beginning of our senior year by taking over as our class advisor. Mr. Strom was bom April 9, 1929 and he graduated from Washburn High School in 1947. He then furthered his educa- tion by attending Northland College and graduating from there in 1953 with a B.S. degree. Mr. Strom received his M. A. Degree from U.M.D. in 1967. He was married in 1958 and has 2 children Dawn and Jim. Mr. Strom has been Prin- cipal at W.H.S. for the past 10 years. James C. Strom

Larry Olson Ad. Editor Schlichting Advisor Cathy Kalmon Financial Mang Jewel Picken Copy Editor Tom Maassen Editor People are what make up memories . . . How true. In years to come when you look back at the '76 Chequamegon you are going to see all your classmates and remember all the good times you had with each one. As you see their picture you'll laugh when you remember what you were up to at the time. Of course you'll remember the faculty, your favorite teacher and some of the nicknames you had for them. Again this year a few people put out that extra little bit to make the '76 Chequamegon the best. Our thanks goes out to that crew. A very special thanks to Mr. Schlichting, our advisor, for keep- ing us going when it came close to deadline time. Also Jerry Ruenzel from Modern Portrait and Russ Johnston a private airplane pilot, deserve our greatest thanks. They took a day of their time to go up in the air and take the magnificent picture you see on the opening page. Jerry did a lot of work for us throughout the year and we really appreciate it. The Seniors who took time to design a few covers for us also deserve thanks and especially to Cathy Kalmon whose design was chosen. Nathan Meyer Photographer Sandy Guski Asst. Editor • 4
