CREOUAM ON 1973 Wctshbu ui f-figh Qchool WaskbuMv, IMscfwtSut Chequamengon '73 is the pleasant, surprised, and priceless faces of our friends caught in a moment . . . captured for our memory. They tell the story. Everywhere there are some solemn, some happy, some sad faces, but they are always there reflecting what we were. Thanks to Mr. Albers and Mr. Kinnunen who took the photos. 2 3 5 7 Deflkcaiio ! 1973 CWjtuxmfigoK We, the Senior Class of 1973, dedicated this annual to a very fine person, Mr. Laverne Basina. Laveme Basina was born July 22, 1940 in Red Cliff, Wisconsin. He graduated from Bayfield High School in 1958 and from Red Cloud State College of Minnesota in 1968 with a B.S. in Mathematics. He is current- ly completing his Master's Degree in teaching of Math and he has been teaching at W.H.S. for five years. He married Karen Fandek in 1960 and they have two children, Curtis and Crissy. He has backed our class ever since our freshman year, guiding our class to the right decisions and correcting our wrong ones of which there were many. And so it is with great pride that we are bestowing this award. 8 Janet Carlson presenting the Chequamegon to Mr. Laverne Basina. 9 ROW 1: K. Kurschner, L. Guski, M. Harnois, B. Terry, N. Bruneau, J. This year our girls worked hard under their new advisor Miss Bley. Along with Miss Bley the girls were able to attend a clinic in Minneapolis. Throughout the year girls were able to use many of the cheers learned at the clinic to help lead the spirited fans. Along with the lively spectators the girls supported our team in many victories and defeats. The girls did a good job keeping the spirit alive this year. 76 ROW 1: S. Beeksma, A. Volak, T. Mager.
