Oh Professor, a three act comedy, was presented by the junior class on December 3. The purpose of these concerts was to show the community the progress made by the band. The band has helped keep the school spirit up by playing for games during football season and it has furnished music for special assembly programs and played regularly for marching to and from the auditorium on assembly days. Several new instruments have been purchased. The Band Mothers helped buy these by giving a skating party and a square dance. Eaton. l 1 y r The Girls Athletic Club enjoyed a successful year under the leadership of Rose Rita White, club president. The assisting officers of the club were Dorothy Voltz, vice president, Iosephine Mihalovich, secretary, and Betty Lou Cunningham, treasurer. The chief purpose of the club is to provide an intra-mural program of athletics for high school girls. Points are awarded for participation in volley ball, hit pin ball, deck tennis, basketball, baseball, tumbling, swimming, hiking, class leadership, and club dependability. Any member who acquires five hundred points in one year receives a dark green chenille W with the white lettering G. A. C. in the center of the letter. 38 On May 14 the club members gave the seniors a farewell party which closed the Girl Reserve Program for this year. This program consisted of 1. variety of events: a handicraft meeting, a book review, an amateur hour, a tureen dinner, a travel talk, a make-up demonstration and several parties. The Mother-Daughter Banquet and Installation Service were combined into one meeting, held on April 28. The past presidents of the club since it originated in 1920 were invited to attend the banquet. The club was represented in all the athletic tournaments held at the Y. W. C. A. At the Valley rally at the Y. W. C. A. November 19, the club had a dis- play representing a Brazilian coffee shop. Klinkler. v y 1 A trip through the colonial kitchen at the Oglebay Mansion opened the program for the Home Economics Club this year. After the tour the girls went to a camp-site and enjoyed a Weiner roast. The program for the rest of the year was based on the subject of hobbies. Each member was to develop a hobby that could be worked on during meet- ings. Some of the girls made purses, belts, and other articles from brightly colored wooden beads. Other girls did embroidery work and knitting. Several parties were also given.
