Mr. Ray Crittenden, Assistant Principal Mr. Edward Way, Assistant Principal Mr. Richard Stacey, principal of Warwick High School, is very concerned about attendance and quality education. He believes the first step to getting a good education is attending school regularly. To enforce this belief Mr. Stacey designed the PR program. The PR program’s (prevention rehabilitation) goal is to cut down on the number of students who do not attend class reg- ularly. Students who miss six or more unexcused days in any two classes are removed from their regular school and sent to a special afternoon school. At this school perfect attendance as well as good behavior and consistent academic perfor- mance are stressed. PR students may return to their regular school after a minium of two months attendance but not be- fore the end of a semester. An additional benefit of the PR program has been to re- duce disruptions in the hall and classroom, and student tardi- ness. Students, who attend class regularly, and teachers are 100% in favor of the program and hope it will improve the quality of education. Administration 25
