RRIANS CELEBR TE VIC t was homecoming on Grosh Field and the old grads had the opportunity to witness the War- riors in one of their better performances. The win broke a four game losing streak. The fine showing offense came alive at the right time. Cool and crisp was the setting for the homecoming football game between the Mighty Warriors and the E-Town Bears. Warwick school spirit was ev- erywhere. Streamers and balloons with screaming fans set the perfect atmosphere for this football game. Get ready, because the game is about to begin. Here come the Mighty Warriors! Neither team did anything with the ball on their first time of possession. However, on the Warriors second series, they put on a sixty-five yard march that ended in the endzone. The Warriors scored with fifty-nine seconds remaining in the first peri- od. Here the Bears fought back, with the Warriors at fault, a play consisting of an eightyfone yard run for a touchdown was achieved by an E-Town play- er. The last ninety seconds of the first half saw the lead of hands change twice. To Warwick's sur- prise, an alert Bear scooped up the ball after a biocked punt and dashed for thirty yards, giving E- Town their second score. The Warriors put on one of their best drives of the year on their first possession in the second half. They took over on their own fifteen and in eleven plays had their second score. With the ball on the Warwick thirty-four yard line and only fifty-eight seconds left the Warriors went to work. After two running plays, the quarterback threw the ball to another team member. This play picked up twenty-four yards. On the one yard line a War- rior carried the ball for another score. The two point conversion was completed. The final score was Warwick twenty-one and E-Town eighteen. Victory had once again been captured by the War- riors after their losing streak. The fans rejoiced. The players were full of pride, and spirit was re- tained in all hearts throughout the day. Top Left: Keith Groff practices his kick before the game.
