They formed our education on one solid base, And helped us to secure our future place. Many memories with friends we shared, While our lessons were being prepared. l 1 The future will be different in many ways, il' Like many tomorrows and one yesterday. To the Underclassmen may we pass along, Take heed to all guidance, you'll never go wrong. As our days at Warwick pass slowly away, The memories will linger, day after day. Class Flower - Red Rose ' Class Motto - We build the ladder by which we rise. 34 A If W MI A CLASS HISTORY FOR LITITZ As we were preparing the historiography of the Class of 1958, we visualized the conception the teachers must have had that first day when we entered the halls of good old L. H. S. How proud they must feel today when they gaze upon us and realize their efforts were not in vain! During our first three years, we made attempts to learn reading, writing, and arithmetic. Although we were there to learn the three R's, we still found time to present our spring and Christmas programs. ln the fourth grade we found ourselves with Miss Hensel, now deceased, and Miss Weidman. This was our first experience of mouth washing with soap. Take me out to the ball game, was our most quoted saying during the latter part of the sixth grade. This soon led to our first class trip - to Shibe Park in Phila. ln iunior high Miss Enck's English classes, Mr. Roehm's math classes, and Mr. Swish- er's teasing were new experiences. Our first attempt at a social affair came in our freshman year when we presented the freshman frolic, Mr. Sandman. This, along with our Clean-Up Campaign , proved to be quite successful. Worms, frogs, and crayfish were found in lockers during our sophomore year. These were all left behind as we began to plan our sophomore dance, Artic Fantic. CLASS HISTORY AT ROTHSVILLE Shall we, the Class of '58, ever forget that bright September day in 1946 when we began our school career? Now, looking back over our twelve completed school years, we find many im- portant events which we will always remember. During our grade school days we eagerly awaited spring and the track meet and May Day which would take place at that time. ln junior high we took our first class trip, which was to the Ephrata Cloisters. There, as we viewed the crude and hard way in which people once lived, we realized how fortunate we are to be living in the twentieth century. Another outstanding occasion was our class trip to Philadelphia. Despite the heavy rainfall that day, we viewed many historic sites, including the Betsy Ross House and Independence Hall. ! r ,L The highlight of our iunior high school days came when two of our outstanding classmates, Kay Hoffer and Paul Wenger, received the Legion Awards. We entered high school feeling very much grown up, with great dreams and am- bitions. Which one of us could ever forget how odd we looked during the initiation by the seniors? An important event of our freshman year was our hayride, which ended with a dance at the Lions Hall. We started our sophomore year with Mr. Klopp as our advisor. For our annual class trip we toured the Gettysburg Battlefield. There our study of the Civil War took on a new meaning. Our sophomore year and school career at Rothsville were climaxed with our soph- omore dance, Bandstand, which was a great success. JUNIOR AND SENIOR YEARS We entered the portals of Warwick High School in the year of 1957. Faced with classmates and new teachers, we found ourselves lost in a maze of halls. The commercial girls were confronted with the peculiar symbols of shorthand, while from Mr. Hackman's room came the horrible odors of experiments. We, as amateur actors and actresses, embarked upon our first stage production, The Night of January l6th. In order to boost our treasury to a substantial amount, we sold Christmas and Easter candy. To end an exciting year, we took a trip into the Southland by means of a Show- boat. Later we found ourselves at the junior-senior prom in an Oriental Garden. After having spent an enioyable summer vacation, we entered our last and final year of high school. In all the confusion of the senior year we presented Boarding House Reach, which was a huge success. Basketball season arrived in its full glory, with school spirit as high as ever. We completed our season by winning the section championship. This added another trophy to our trophy case. As April rolled around we found ourselves completing plans for graduation. The junior class had a terrific dinner-dance at the Stevens House. After the prom we were entertained at the Post Prom Frolic in the school cafeteria. Graduation time arrived at last. Tearfully and solemnly we walked down the aisle to receive our diplomas. What will the future hold for us? e g-if 'Z 4? T' CLASS PROPHECY NAME Adams, Fred ....,.. The Warriors met Columbia for a chance to win the Lancaster County Basketball Championship two years in a row. The Warriors dropped this game and another game to York in the P.I.A.A. play-offs, which ended their season.
