That zephyr can be many things: An inhibited act of courage- The unspoken feeling of true friendship- A realization of the beauty of nature- 157 Or perhaps the deep, sweet feeling of true love. But that zephyr, whether noticed or unobserved ls a direct act of God. It is planned that way. lf we could realize that it was He Who gave to us that pointed direction, We would be eternally grateful To the Benefactor of man. So, whenever our lives take an upward turn, Be sure it is not Fate, But God. .lack Russell Markert I To thee dear Warwick High School, I We bid a fond farewell. JUNIOR VARSITY FOOTBALL The Junior Varsity football team, coached by Mr. Kambic and Mr. Rider, ended a success- ful season boasting a 4-0 record. The team, which was composed of sophomores and iuniors, showed promising results of a championship football team for Warwick High School in the very near future. Although the team was under the leadership ofa different captain during each game, they showed their willingness to cooperate and to follow instructions by winning every game they played. The closest game played was against Columbia, but the team showed their determination to win by holding Columbia to six points while totaling seven themselves. Compiling a record of seven wins, two losses, and one tie, the team did their best and ended in second place. Although the girls were not placed in a special league, their playing opponents were Elizabethtown, Donegal, Country Day, and Manheim Central. Every week they had challenge matches to determine their height on the tennis ladder. According to this ladder method, the top seven girls were Pat Kauffman, Lucy Hall, Joyce Rannels, Mary Alice Diehm, Carol Morgan, Emma Witwer, and Brooke Minnich. Our last high school performance was entitled Cupid In Pigtails , a three-act farce which was presented on March 8 and 16, 1957, in the Warwick High School. We were privileged in presenting the first performance held in the new auditorium. The play centered around Suzy McAdams, a dynamic twelve-year-old, and Squeegee Squires, Suzy's side-kick. These two resorted to all kinds of tricks to keep Suzy's brother and sister from falling for April and Beaseley Fogg, children of a sophisticated business- man. Of course they shrewdly managed to do so in spite of many diffciulties, and all ended well. The following was the cast of characters: Suzy McAdams, Susan Beck, Todd McAdams, John Gibbel, Gail McAdams, Sally Sue Templeton, Mabelle McAdams, Judy Ruebman, Dorothea Vanderford, Mary White, Rolls Sappleton, William Dengler, Murchi- son Fogg, Kenneth Hufford, April Fogg, Darlene Blauch, Beaseley Fogg, David Weaver, Pete Farley, Douglas Minnich, Beth Farley, Anita Zug, Squeegee Squires, Bruce Horne, Ollie May Squires, Mary Alice Diehm, Gertie Groot, Phyllis Koser, Carter Prescott, Roger Gerhart. Mr. Scott Gorman, our capable director, deserves much credit for helping to make the play a success. 6 'of' x . -ww: . -zgsm, . , . ,4 .1 bn, y . 5 8. 1.
