MISS MARCIA RENCH ... is crowned 1964 Homecoming Queen Screaming pep rallies, knigh+s In armor, greased poles, exotic banquets, gloomy death marches, flaming bonfires, flowers, ribbons, food, skits and football games will let no one say they caught Wartburg napping on this hHome- comlng weekend. There was far too much excitement for that. Even the visitors were caught up In the festivities as canstacking, Yell like hell contests and social hours added even more flavor to this year ' s festivities. The sports theme was Level Luther ' s ' Leven. The general theme of the weekend, however, was Unity Amid Diversity. With a definite South Sea Island tempo, Kastle Kapers swung out with music and rhythm under the Midnight Sun, presenting Queen Marcia Rench and her court, chosen by the student body to reign over the weekend. The crisp air did little to cool spirits as enthusiastic cheer- leaders brought excitement to a peak during bonfire ceremonies. A KahikI social hour and banquet enter- tained students and alumni. Come With Me to the Sea set the mood for the hHomecomlng dance, adding a glamorous touch and climaxing Saturday ' s events. Centering around a duel with Luther on the football field, the annual weekend proved both enjoyable and rewarding from the anticipation of Mystery Convo to the thrilling resonance of the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. Who says you have to win the battle to win the war? SMILING RADIANTLY, Marcia is crowned by Jayne Chris+ensen McElfresh, 1963 queen, as Dave Hutson and Roger Sherman assist. HOMECOMING ROYALTY— Barbara Matthias, Elizabeth Kalkwarf, Queen Marcia Rench, Janice Howard, Barbara Bose.
