OUR WORLD it i encuuf cvotiCcta., it i letUCcf, ute cwviCct Today, transportation and communication have made all the people of the world neighbors. No two people can be more than ninety hours apart. Through the mediums of radio, T.V., movies, and newspapers, we have learned much about the rest of the world. We know about the Appian Way in Rome, the sidewalk cafes in Paris, and the address of 10 Downing Street in London. We send art, food, and clothing and fry to break down barriers of hate by teaching a democratic way of life. Yet, we are almost entirely absorbed by our personal world. Our interest and fear about the problems of today's world are often pushed aside by the interest in our daily routine. Worries about the H-bomb are lost in worries about a chemistry test; concern about a starving child is lost in the concern that a dance or party be a success, and all else is forgotten when the Tigers play a tough rival. i tt utcitt MaC ue tcU Ufr4- one fistotttoteeC OUR AMBASSADORS TO AND FROM Serim and Peter For the post few years we have been privileged to have students come from other countries to live and learn with us. We have also sent several of our students abroad to live for a short time with our foreign neighbors. We have enjoyed teaching our American customs to them and also learning about theirs. We hope they have enjoyed living with us. Only by co-operation with the American Field Service and other organizations of our town, has this exchange of students been made possible. We firmly believe that through this service, a better understanding of our fellowmen in other nations is being made.
