J.H. excel by ripping nets Excitement grew as the junior high girls ' bas- ketball team played their final games of the season during the LaMonte Tournament, March 14-19. The Warsaw Girls finished the tournament in second place after playing a close and challeng- ing championship match against the host team LaMonte. The first half was promising, but the excitement faded away in the second half. The final buzzer left the Wildcats short with a score of 35-31. Top scorer for the game was Melanie Wallace with 7 points, and Lori Kirby and Brandi Gripka were leading scorers for the tournament totaling 8 points each. Mental errors cost us the game, but consider- ing that our team consisted of mainly seventh graders, the experience will be invaluable for next year, remarked Coach Peggy Gilmore.
