1 ■J I J iiinwaiNu; Oedicaiion Because of his friendliness, thoughtfulness, and un¬ derstanding. Because of our admiration for him and for that which he stands, VVe, the Senior Class ol 1962, dedicate The Ambassador to fric eii Ji es 1 I LI c son J ' icif)a s ess acje Seniors: You are now emerging as a new citizen of our society; therefore, set your sights high by re-evaluating your ideals and think¬ ing, so that you may render sterling worth to our society rather than considering what society can give back to you. Is is easier to catch the vices of others than their virtues. We have not attempted to force you into one mould because recognition has been given to you as an individual; so we hope you will display the principles exercised in your training at Warsaw High School. Con¬ tinue to display self-discipline in every act, as it is the basis of all education. Finally, remember, tt is not wealth, nor ancestry, but honorable conduct and a noble disposition that make you good citizens of tomorrow. Barnard graphs La si T )ill and desiameni We, the Seniors of Warsaw High School, County of Richmond, State of Virginia, in perfect health and memory, (God be praised) do make and ordain this our last will and testament, in manner and form following; - that is to say: First, ROBIN GALLAGHER leaves the following: His corny jokes to Michael Hinson, believing that they will be well circulated, and his hot 49 Oldsmobile to Jerry Parr in case Jerry ' s father gets tight on his using the Plymouth. GRAHAM BALDERSON wills his broken down bus to Franklin Brown in hopes that Franklin will have more fun taking it to the shop than he did. Also to Larry Withers, Graham leaves his studious ability in hopes that Larry will see the light and will increase his mental output, CHARLES HALE leaves his ability to have many appointments downtown to Jerry Withers, feel¬ ing confident that Jerry will never be without a bona fide excuse for leaving school. To Joe Settle, Charles leaves his job downtown since Joe seems unable to obtain steady employment. WELFORD HAYNIE bequeaths his All-American physique to Randolph Jenkins with hopes that Randolph will practice what Welford preaches. GEORGE PACKETT leaves his book of tardy slips to Edward Delano with hopes that Edward will arrive at school just late enough to mess up the absentee list. WENDELL PATTON wills his red hubcaps and red clothes to Boyd Clements. The clothes should be real eye catchers, and the hubcaps will make Boyd a really big, big wheel. DAVID PITTS hands down his bus to David France providing David keeps up the tradition of not getting to school on time during snowy or rainy weather. David gives his track ability to Robert L. Hinson because David knows Bobby is right behind him on this. BOBBY REAMY wills his renowned ability on the guitar to Stuart Atkinson and hopes Stuart will make as many records as Bobby is planning to make himself. ROBERT SCATES leaves his slogan: Things without all remedy should be without regard, to Mac Lowery whom Robert believes will apply the slogan to his school and social problems. CECIL SCHOOLS wills his ability to make a convincing paper sale to Joe Bowles because Joe is always near school very early each morning. Cecil leaves his S.C.A. knowledge to Aubrey Lee Edwards hoping that Mr. Lee will strive for political success because Cecil feels that it ' s about time for Warsaw to produce a U.S. diplomat. HARRY TAYLOE wills his good looks and natural charm with the girls to Jack Davis and Gerald Rose, providing the boys don ' t socialize in the hall to the extent that they have to be ordered to class. Continued on page 79 C ass T rop iectj 1962 Ha ' ing studied English literature into the wee hours, these words of Alfred Lord Tennyson were ringing in my ears: For I dipped into the future, far as human eye could see. Saw the vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be. Suddenly, I was transported far into the future - to the year 1986, to be exact, and the sights I saw and the news I heard were almost unbelievable. I found myself sitting in the wait¬ ing room of the Wendell Patton Youth Center located on Pinehurst Corner in the northwest section of Warsaw. As 1 sat there, Mr. Patton ' s private clerk, Cecil L. Schools, informed Wendell that he had spent a mere hundred and fifty million dollars and forty-three cents. But why should he worry? It was tax deductible. I was informed that my dear friend Dr. Welford L. Haynie, famous psychiatrist about town, opened his other office in New York. He had several calls from many of the youth of Warsaw. Dr. Haynie understands teenagers because, you see, when he was one, he was known as a Big Wheel with a certain senior girl. This other member of the family has made quite an im¬ pression on the young men of her day. She is remembered by her maiden name. Miss Cassie France. You see, the doctor has credited his success to his beloved wife. I heat the master pool shark about town is doing very well. Of course, everyone knows to whom I refer - yes, Harry Tayloe, alias Fingers. Just recently he opened a new pool hall in Los Angeles, Fingers informed me it only cost him one million dollars. Of course, all of the pool tables were made of ivory. Nothing but the best for Fingers. 1 guess that everyone knows that Fingers married that lovely beauty of the ninth grade, none other than Miss Janet Mc- Kenny. Charles Hale has started his own business entitled Have Goodies - Will Travel. From what I ' ve heard, he deals with only the best of the goodies - candy bars. Some one stated that he had an annual income in excess of a million dollars. He got his start at Hinson ' s Supermarket. Wendell told me that David Pitts is happy as Commander-in-Chief of army and navy. He often is called on to help his old friend, Bobby Reamy, who is a chief astronaut for the Midas project. George Packett has just returned from Le Mans, Paris, where he raced his quarter of a million dollar Plymouth. George informed me his black Plymouth wouldn ' t go over four hun- Continued on page 80 President, Pauline Pitts; Vice President, Nada Balderson; Secretary, Cassie France; Treasurer, Norma Dameron; Reporter, Mary Gallagher GRAHAM ADDISON BALDERSON NADA IRENE BALDERSON Graham Nada ETHEL NORMA DAMERON RALPH DELANO ELLIOTT Norma Ralph KATHLEEN ANN FRANCE MARY ADRENE GALLAGHER Cassie Mary ROBIN ELTON GALLAGHER CHARLES RYLAND HALE Robin Hotdog WELFORD LEE HAYNIE GEORGE ANDREW PACKETT Welford George FORREST WENDELL PATTON Wendell DAVID LEE PITTS David MARGUERITE PAULINE PITTS Pauline BOBBY NEAL REA MY Bobby KATHERINE VIOLA SADLER Kathy ROBERT AUGUSTUS SCATES Robert CECIL LARRY SCHOOLS HARRY MARBURY TAYLOE Cecil Harry GRAHAM ADDISON BALDERSON S.C.A. 1,2, 3, 4, ' ice President, Chaplain 3; Class Prophecy 4; Senior Play 4; Com¬ mittee Chairman 4; Science Day 1; Student Council 3; Home Room President 1,2,3; Newspaper Staff 4; Five Pointer 1,2, 3, 4; Perfect Attendance 2; F.B.L.A. 4; S.C.A, Workshop 3; Beta Member 3,4; School Rep¬ resentative 3; School Store 2; Bus Driver 3,4; Captain Safety Patrol 2; Baseball 1,2, 3,4. The girls in our class, though few in number are rich in gifts, and therefore they do will the following: HADA BALDERSON wills her hysterical laugh to Sandra Balderson with the understanding that she is never to laugh unless the laugh is on somebody else. Nada leaves her F.B.L.A. office of President to Pat Barton with the provision that Pat take the whole club for a cruise on her family yacht. Nada bequeaths her sewing ability to Linda New who will enter an original creation in the Mouse Point Creek Dress Revue. NORMA DAMERON wills her shorthand ability to Charlotte Brooks in hopes that the answer sheet proves helpful. Norma leaves her latest hair style to Evelyn Morris since Evelyn seems to be w ' ell-suited for any of the latest fashions. Norma bequeaths her selling ability at the drug¬ store and at school to Peggy Saunders, advising Peggy to use those come hithery eyes. CASSIE FRANCE wills her beat up piano to Diana Jenkins in hopes that she will soon have the boys swooning at the door. Cassie leaves her acting ability to Shirley Wheeler with the hopes that Shirley will play the role of a dashing Jezabel. Also, Cassie hands down to Joyce Palmore her drawing ability. Cassie feels that the Bulldog ' s Bark should have no fears about attractive cover designs as long as it has Joyce. Next, MARY GALLAGHER who has handled the money end of the lunchroom, leaves this skill to Joyce Wilkins with the admonition that the pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollars must jive. Mary has a case of raisins which she leaves to Darlene Connelly. Mary feels that the raisins can cure all ills, whether of the heart or body. PAULINE PITTS leaves her athletic ability to Marilyn Day in hopes that Marilyn will keep in shape for the team. Pauline entrusts her three C ' s - cool, calm, collective - to Faye Sanford knowing that they will be well preserved. KATHY SADLER leaves the primping mirror in the girls ' restroom to Joyce Thrift and Jane Withers in hopes that the mirror will tell them which is fairer. Finally, all seniors leave their massive brain power and excessive energy to the faculty to be distributed fairly to the needy students who follow us. Our will is hereby ended and possibly forgotten. - Ralph Elliott Continued from page 15 dred and ninty miles an hour all through the race. That accounts for his coming in last place. But George said, Who cares? I still make a steady income from my chain of five thousand gasoline stations. Of course, we can ' t forget that famous rock ' n roll singer of our senior class, Wild Ralph Elliott, who is at present in Hollywood making a few western pictures. He stated that he gets a big bang out of these pictures. His latest one is If You Can ' t Win Them - Kill Them. By the way, I hear that Kathy Sadler and Mary Gallagher were so good in the senior play presented in ' 61 that they were called to Hollywood, where they are starring in the new pro¬ duction Scared Moose Will Run. Kathy has the role of a Madame Go-Fetch-It and Mary is playing the coveted part of Princess Pepsi. Oh, yes, we can ' t forget Pauline Pitts. She always wanted to marry a millionaire. Well, she finally hooked one, namely Robert Scates, president of Kill ' Em Ration Dog Food Com¬ pany. His company supplies all the dogs living in V ' arsaw. I guess this accounts for his fortune. Just recently Norma Dameron opened her new beauty salon where she has become famous the world over because of a new rinse recently tested on the famous glamour girl, Nada Balder- son. The rinse consisted of a special blend of tru-ade and lemon juice. Just what the effect was, I really don ' t know. The famous Robin Gallagher, the rage in the hot-rod building industry, has just come into some money. I guess his success is accounted for by his latest invention, the compact Model-T. I heard Robin hasn ' t been late for anything for ages. As for me, who needs to worry? For ten years I ' ve been mayor of Red Hill, a suburb of War¬ saw, and if all goes well, we plan soon to annex Naylor ' s Hole. So you see - the class of ' 62 has been and will continue to be a success, little or large, in some field, little or large. In another ten years. I ' ll be back with a later report. - Graham Balderson TAYLOR PUBLISHING COMPANY r I ♦ • I 1 f l s ' V™
