Well, that is how the class of '56 felt when they entered Warroad Public School to begin the first of twelve grades. We were taken in hand by Miss Brandon who was the very first instructor of our class. Our other guiding lights that filled us with little beams of knowledge were Mrs Lgndin 2nd grade-Mrs Green and Miss Myreen 3rd grade- Mrs Eisenrich and Miss Myreen Lth grade- Miss Swanson 5th grade-and Mrs Olson 6thgrade A great many incidents happened to us in grade school that we will long remember Let's go back and recall just a few of them ---- Remember those days that were set aside as ndress-upn days and all of the girls would bring their dolls. How about the parties we always looked forward to Let's see, there was Christ- mas, Halloween, Valentine's Day, and 0H,those Nlast day of schoolu picnics Gee, we can't forget those fights and the reading of stories in the cloakrooms---and those unpleasant little trips down to Mr Boehlke's office All of us remember the teachers we loved and others-- well lets just say we had our little ups and downs And then with half of our education complete we entered the 7th grade That was the year that romance entered our lives and athletics toomon a new importance In the 8th grade glory spread its welcome light on our class Bill Christian was named most valuable player of the State Pee Wee Hockey Tournament When our sophomore year rolled around we were officially initiated into the high school by the honor able seniors That was a week of misery and endurance It had its good moments though and when it was over we were members of W H 5 in good standing And then it was upon us! The year we were all a little afraid of but still looked forward to If it could be done with ambition, cooperation, hard work and a good financial treasury then we were Just the class to do it The year started off with a very successful Junior class play, 'No Boys Allowedn and was helped along money wise by a magazine drive Another method of raising our revenue was the running of the baseball concession stand the summer prior to our Junior year Then came the long hours of planning, selecting a theme arranging for an orchestra and the final days of decor ating for our prom NStairway to the Starsn it was called and if there were ever an illusion of dancing in the heavens with stars glittering wherever your eye should fall, this was it And when it was over and our hard earned money spent, this was added to our list of high school memories with the grateful thanks of the seniors to make it complete Now we have come to our senior year in W H b Liz Urtel reigned over our last Homecoming festivitles a mystery thriller entitled 'Hobgoblin Housen exchanged class playes with Oklee in order to make the venture more profitable One of the priveleges of the seniors is a skip day, so naturally every senior class thinks their's was the best and the greatest one ever We went as far as our money would allow and had more fun than our memories could ever hold No history would be complete without our thanks and appreciation to Mr Shetterly, who has been our class advisor through our junior and senior years ln' iwfgil . D and we presented another class play. This time it was . We And so the class of 56's history draws to a close with Baccalaureate and Commencement excercises which will make us alums of Warroad high. We would like to extend our graditude to the administration and faculty who have made our education so enjoyable and to our friends in the grades below who .haye made our memories so pleasant. ---We'll be thinking of you a lot---because we think a lot of you--- tif: 7 13.
