Commencement marks the beginning of a new and different life for all of you. I hope that your ex- periences in school have given you the background necessary for suc- cess in whatever field you choose to follow. Come back often to see us. Take an active interest in the future of the school from which you were the first to be graduated. Best Wishes--- To the Class of '59 Congratulations for a job well done! Your graduation is the culmination of many co-operative efforts, not the least of which is your ability to work together as a class. If the events of these days tend to pass all too quickly, by all means keep that spirit of co-operation close to your hearts. It will most surely prove itself a main-stay in your life to come. It is my sincere desire that each graduate receives his full share of the best. Good luck to each of you. Sincerely, . YKWQ4 9 zssse Q-Ns? A i Q- A fl ffvfa.,n..u:Qfs26vfwv1Y. Leaders for that year at Watsontown were: Nancy Wuestner ..... President Tom Aunkst . . . Vice'President Ted Menges ...... Secretary Audrey Mincemoyer . Treasurer In Turbotville, officers for the year were: Mary Shurtz ..... . . President Jack Dildine . . . Vice President Lawrence Bieber . . . Treasurer Highlight of the Freshman year at Turbotville was a trip to Long- wood Gardens, Hershey, and Valley Forge. Mr. Cyril Menges, Mr. Jack Mordan, and Mrs. Earl Dye chaperoned the event. In 1956, the two classes resumed their journeyonward. Hopes were high that both might be joined in a new school with the New Look by their senior year. In Turbotville, the officers were: Ron Pfleegor. . . . . . President Mary Enterline . Vice President .To Ann Mincemoyer. . Secretary Lawrence Bieber . . . Treasurer In September, the class sponsored stands at the Turbotville Fair, and later in the year they presented a variety show in assembly. At Watsontown, officers for the year were: Bruce Zettlemoyer. . . President Tom Aunkst .... Vice President Dawn Buehler ...... Secretary Jo Ann Horn ....... Treasurer A car -wash in September, a February bake-sale, and a highly suc- cessful dance, The Soda-Pop Hop , held in April, helped boost the class treasury. Enjoyment was provided by Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream , which the group attende d in April at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove. September, 1957, and class of '59 returned to school, sure that they would be together in their senior year in the new building, which was well under way. Turbotville officers for the year were: Gerald Reese ...... President Ronald Pfleegor . Vice President .To Ann Dye ....... Secretary Lawrence Bieber . . . Treasurer 34 Events of the year included a skating party, held in November at Dixie's Star-Lite Gardens in Bloomsburg, an Easter candy sale, the Junior Class play, Aunt Tillie Goes To Town , a comedy fashion show presented in assembly, the Junior -Senior prom in May, and two interesting trips. In September, Mr. and Mrs. McKelvey chaperoned a trip to Philadelphia, and in May the students toured the Corning Glass Works and visited Watkins Glen, with Mrs. Alvin Follmer, Mrs. Jessie Reynolds, and Mr. Cyril Menges chaperonlng. Meanwhile, things were active in Watsontown, too. Officers for the year-- Bruce Zettlemoyer. . President Kay Rickert. . . Vice President Pat Criswell ...... Secretary Audrey Mincemoyer . Treasurer had been elected, and had taken care of their first item of business, class rings. These were ordered in September and received in December. Two successful dances, the Sputnik Space Frolic and the Dance of the Icicles , as well as a bake sale, were the fund-raising projects for the year. The Junior class play, If You Knew Kathy , and a farewell party for the seniors in May completed the year's activities. On September 3, 1958, the class of '59 became the first senior class with the New Look in beautiful new Warrior Run High School. Bewildered by the maze of new corridors and new faces, they nevertheless set to work. Officers elected for this last year were: Bruce Zettlemoyer. . President Jack Dildine . . . Vice President Pat Criswell ...... Secretary Audrey Mincemoyer. Treasurer The first items of business were the choosing of the class colors-- blue and white--and the sponsoring of the first dance in the school, La Pre- mlere . While the last months were slipping by fast, a well-attended class play and a spring dance were nearly the last activities the class would ever hold. A gala Junior -Senior prom was the final event on the seniors' social calendar. After months of hard work, final exams at last were over and out of the way, a weary senior class could relax and enjoy Class Day on June 1. Also, on May 30, they attended an impressive Baccalaureate Service. Fi- nally,on the evening of June 3, a solemn procession of seniors, clad in caps and gowns, received their diplomas. A few moments later, they filed out of the beautiful auditorium, the first group of students to be sent out into the world from this building. They have many beautiful memories, which they will often look fondly back on. The class of '59, Class of the New Look, are on their own. 35 ug f' ,V ' rw 2? 123 .1 5 ', 'X x V E s,.,,A,k V 'W fun X 6.L,. M . QM.L.-ff 5 ,. :' 't-,g firw fz i', .,g 54 , f l K wargggigx . k . ww?
