He strives for the best possible grades, yet he is still aware of the many things he can learn other than from books Fil .1 Today I walk the same places I did six years ago. The changing environment symbolizes to me a changing life. l've learned to appreciate the simple things that are so very important to my life . . . I've learned to love the people who care and believe in me more than I deserve. There is always somebody or something to work for, and while there is, life shall always be worth living. Memories such as these wiii be stored in our minds and never forgotten. No matter what the path we may choose for our future, in our minds wiii remain YESTERDAY. For we are today where our thoughts have brought us, we wiii be tomorrow where our thoughts take us. into our hands wiii be piaced the exact resuit of our thoughts, we wiii receive what we earn, No MORE, No LESS. He used to walk the halls in the mornings hunting someone to talk to. If there was someone standing in a corner alone, he would make a special effort to say something nice to them. This kindness made their day a little brighter. I also remember the times when a favor was neededp good old Don was right there. He never hesitated or asked whyg he iust did what was asked of him. You did not have to repay him with money either, lust a smile and a thank-you was all he asked. I ought to know, for many was the time I stood in thot lonely corner and his kind words lifted my spirits and many a favor did I ask that was unreasonable. But now he is gone: gone to a better place than any of us can ever imagine. I only hope that someday I can go too. We have tried to capture the changes, spirit and mood of this year, and at the same time create a treasured memory book for the future. lt has been a very difficult task, but despite the head-l aches and problems, it has been a rewarding experience. My only hope is that this yearbook shall be an example of a changing youth, a changing high school, and a changing world . . . I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Miss Linda McCurry for her advice and tolerance of my constant demands for innovations, and to Mr. John Strickland for his understanding when the times were rough, and then to the TOTEMPOLE staff who spent many long hours working on this book. Finally, my greatest appreciation to my friends who understood my feelings and my main goal for this book to be the very BEST. Kathy Green, Editon 164 1 fi..-' ' 5 . , ' u k W . , ' 'li an-.
