Juniors: — Trask Bergerson, and Seniors: Dennis Sturgell and Mike Larson. Bergeson, Sturgell, Cantrell and Larson were District Champions. It was a great season for the Warriors. Trask Bergeson pins his opponent with a leg ride. WRESTLING MEMORIES | remember wrestling practice as a hard, tough, learning experience as a freshman. This year was a little easier by knowing what to expect. There were a lot of funny things that happened this year. Bill Barber _ forgot his sleeping bag and was forced to cover himself with extra clothes to keep warm. Brian Cantrell could never seem to hold on to his gear for more than 5 minutes at a time. He managed to lose enough singlets and headgear to go over the 100 dollar mark. Brian lost everything from tournament passes to his girlfriend's phone number. At district, a couple of people wanted col d cereal for breakfast. Mr. Warren almost went into labor, and made us eat the breakfast the school was serving. And last but not least, Woof broke his paw in practice and couldn't wrestle. He came to watch and eat. by, John McDaniel SOOOCOOOL OOOD NS SOO OOOO OOD OD SD OOO BOYS’ BAS ASS A TEAM . The Warrenton High volleyball team scrambles to “bump” the ball over the net during the Homecoming volleyball game. The last event of the week was the Homecoming Dance. This year’s theme was Kokomo. The theme was selected from many entries. The school decided this popular song fitle fit the aura of the week. The activities and decorations were all based on this one word. Kokomo is a nonsense word meant to express a special place where everyone is friendly and they all get along. From the looks of things, this seems most appropriate for 1988. So far the year has been great and with only eight more months fo go, things can only get befter. “Great Balls of Fire!” The Senior class cheer on their mates during a competition. Tena Vert is in hysterics as Jason Doan tries on her extra uniform. Homecoming week is a mem- orable time in the life of high schoolers. A week of com- Petitions, costumes, games, and all out fun! It was created to get students more aware and involved in the community. They tackle the problems they feel are important by using a group solving approach The members have sponsored many events throughout the year They involve the memorial dance for Bobby Jorgenson, the giving tree, Christmas chain links, and penny drive. They also “targeted out” two students from each class once a month that they felt had special qualities. It was also in charge of the second “Together We Can Make a Difference Day.” The theme this year dealt with many different problems teenagers face, such as peer pressure, suicide, sexuality, and drugs and alcohol. The day was planned to be fun but also educational. Her hometown is Palma De Mallorca, Spain. She came to America to make more friends and to learn English better and that is exactly what she did. W.H.S. will always re- member her mischievous smile, her cute personality, and her dedication to sports. She has beautiful black hair and a wonderful smile. Her name is Carmen Sacristan, a senior here at Warrenton High School. She is eighteen years old and from Madrid, Spain. Carmen will always re- member our wonderful rain, the Sadie Hawkins dance, and the Senior Skip Day, where she went swimming and relaxed in the hot tub. What she likes most about Warrenton and W.H.S. is the beach and her good friend Mrs. Rupp. Carmen said that Mrs. Rupp is very funny and - COOL, Carmen, Jesus, and Belen enjoying themselves at the 1989 Sadie Hawkins dance. You may see him jumping around or just overflowing with laughter. He carries a smile with him wherever he goes and seems to lighten a room whenever he’s in it. Jesus Mostaza is seventeen years old, a junior here at W.H.S., and is from, he believes, the most beautiful place in the world, Seville, Spain. Jesus is very sociable and that is what he will always remember most about W.H.S., how the students are more open and friendly and spend more time socializing with the teachers.
