Mike Fannon, who was a junior at Warrenton R-III High School this year, left us in January. Mike had attended school regularly and was a hardworking and eager student. Even though Muscular Dystrophy weighed more heavily on him, he used his remaining strength to obtain a GED to complete his high school requirements. While Mike lived he provided us all with a model of courage and showed us how to face life and accept what it brings. We all benefited because Mike touched our lives. Out With The Old, In With The New In with the new, out with the old; that was the subject in the Dedication program held on March 1, 1981 in the new facility. The Warren County R-III Fieldhouse was built throughout the 1980-81 school year. After the program the building was put to use by the basketball teams and the physical education classes. All court fames in later years are to be played in this uilding. With the acceptance of the new addition to Warren County R-III, came the farewell to an older building, The Old Gym , formerly known and used as the Niedringhause Memorial Build- ing in the Central Wesleyan College days. This building, erected in 1909, was put to use by the school system by holding classes there, includ- ing the 5th and 6th grade, kindegarten, and the physical education classes, in the past years. The people of Warrenton have many memories from this building and are sad to see it and its days come to an end.
