CROSS-COUNTRY MAKES A HOME Under the leadership of a new, but experience coach, Mr. John Barry, cross-country was started on a perma- nent basis at Warrenton High School this year. The boys participating in this running event were both able and willing to put out their efforts for the team. De- spite the late start, the boys were in good condition for the two and three mile courses to be run and showed signs of a fast team for next year. The lively spirit a- mong the team was well rewarded when they ended the season with a better-than-average record in six meets. The cross-country team was captained by Dave Gas- kins and co-captained by David O'Donnell, who were both varsity runners; however, the credit must be given to the team as a whole, who helped to encour- age wins with their spirit and effort.
