TOM AH A WK This year the Tomahawk staff is a lot smaller and more organized than in the years before. The reason for this is that the Tomahawk is being published in the Warrenton Banner. More work is required than ever before because the Tomahawk was published twice a month instead of the usual one. The reason it was decided to publish the school paper in the Banner was it was more educational. Actual newspaper lay-out procedures were used, and the staff got to lay the paper out in the Banner office, learning the different types of machines used. This years Tomahawk has brought the school news to the public and we hope, the public a little closer to the school. Editors: Karl Lenzenhuber, Mrs. Stone —Advisor, Carol Curtis, Russell Clarke Sports: (L to R) 14 ANNUAL STAFF The Wahisho Staff's 1971 Buy A Yearbook campaign was launched by all classes competing to buy the most yearbooks and win a free advertisement. The Senior class made the most sizable contribution with over sixty per cent of the students purchas- ing yearbooks. The staff began making plans for the yearbook, and soon deadline came to be a time looked forward to by everyone?! The staff often had to work several nights a week but there was never a dull moment. After all, what could be more exciting than finding an escaped hamster in the waste can? Much to our photographers' de- light the staff always thought of some last minute pictures that just had to be taken. Copy had to be discussed, changed, and rearranged, and somebody always managed to tear the carbons out of the 3-R forms before they were finished. Heated arguments over captions often enhanced the evenings. Which is correct, Cheering the team on, or Cheering on the team? Such mysteries puzzled everyone as, How did a picture of an eight-door car get in the advertisement pictures? Exhausting decisions also had to be made as to whether you were working on a left-hand page or a right- hand page! Amid the fun, confusion, and work the yearbook staff completed the pages and gave Warrenton High School the 1971 Wahisho.
