K in lf '1 ,gs 'Q Q 5 if ,on -sa fr I1 , I I fs S N Il, C - X 'l 'L f x Winter . . . marks the middle of our school year Outside the snow was falling and the cold wet winds of December blowing. Inside the halls of W.H.H.S. all was warm and cozy. Stu- dents were busily planning the events which were to transpire in the next few months. The last football game had been played and now it was the basketball team's tum to be in the limelight. Team membels gathered in the gymnasium each night for practice. Y-Teeners were teaming with excitement as the date of the annual Sno-Ball grew nearer. Talk of formals to be bought, and decorations to be made could be heard everywhere. The formal proved to be a great success and was enjoyed by all who attended. Now the senior play cast began the tedious job of rehearsing for the senior play. This year a three-act English comedy entitled The Importance of Being Eamest was presented. The play was hilarious and will long be remembered by all. As the weeks went by Junior Class members became wound up in plans for the Prom. Many money-earning projects were undertaken by this industrious group in order to finance this gala affair. The biggest day of the year came for the Juniors when their bright lew class rings arrived. Excitement filled the halls of the school that day as each of the Juniors showed his ring with pride. Of course the Juniors were not the only busy ones. The Senior Class was constantly tied up with plans for commence- ment, including their announcements, cap and gowns. The most im- portant plans of the seniors, of course, were their plans for the future. Many were going on to college while others were to take their place in the business world. While all this, sophomore and freshman classes busily went about the many duties set aside especially for them as well as the regular grind all students were a part of. Soon the cold winds and snow died down and in their place the sweet breezes and bright showers of Spring appeared. This was a signal that the Spring activities were about to begin. 27
