“Wild, Wild West’’ Pow! Boom! Bang! It was a victorious showdown for the WLHS Cowboy Cardinals at Homecoming 1980. The spir- ited atmosphere of Homecoming week was set with the Wild, Wild West theme as sheriffs stalked the halls and favorite athletes were lassoed. To warm the Cardinals up for the big game, a bonfire, including a snake dance and cheers, was held. The Juniors took first place in the float competition with, IT'S BRANDIN' TIME IN THE W-L CORRAL. Cap- turing the spirit stick with bellowing voices were the Sopho- mores. The football game was a riot of excitement as the Cardi- nals scalped the Sullivan Redskins, 12-6. To finish up the week, the gym was transformed into a barnyard for the wild westerners to dance the night away to the music of Sta- sis. Reigning during the dance were Queen Susan Brown and King Tony Connolley. 6 Homecoming
