Once again the principal tells of rules That help to preserve and spare our schools. Most classes we all just sleep through. Especially if the material is new. Teachers give facts and ask questions in a stream. Students give bad answers and daydream. Classes progress with nerves and stress As news of football and Homecoming fly off the press. Football games, whether won or lost. Are celebrated, remembered, and then embossed. Semesters bring anxiety to no one-- Teacher, parent, daughter, or son. Report cards are distributed that fateful day. In hopes that each subject will bring an A Basketball games were over in a flash, Track and baseball made a dash. Wrestling came down with a crash And the golfers gave the ball a smash. Senior bowl came in for the fight With cheers of Let’s see your bright light!' Then and Now made the scene With songs popular in everyone's teens. Senior Prom was next in sight. We danced and had great fun all night. Graduation came this year. With all the normal joy and tears. We remember all of these--yes. They bring back joy and happiness. Donna K. Gillespey Lynda Mears - Ssskaby Couples 4a m Hon, ..Black W£w i yto 0rM • ... rph ru ,i ''C, .......... „. ?% f 'oWin uTt; ? Charles Dickens In one sense there is no death. The life of a soul on earth lasts beyond his departure, You will always feel that life touching yours, that voice speaking to you, that spirit looking out of others eyes, talking to you in the familiar things he touched, worked with, loved as familiar friends. He lives on in your life and in the lives of all others that knew him. 8 Angelo Patri Board of Education, Superintendent, and Secretary Mr. Blythe, who was de- ceased May 1, 1974, had been an active school board and community member. The exciting chain of events started on Thursday, October 4th. With a blazing bonfire and a snake dance through the town. Then on Friday afternoon, school was dismissed in order to have a parade complete with floats, music and plenty of school spirit, which was culmina- ted in a pep assembly at the football field. That night Warren- sburg tied Niantic 0-0 in a football game which broke a long time losing streak for the Cardinals. Finally, on Saturdayeve- ning the homecoming dance was held in the gym. Magwitch supplied the music which topped off the success of this year's Homecoming. 54 n Ah rinss Honestly Sincere Spanish Rose Bye Bye Birdie! On November 16, 1973, the chorus presented the musical Bye Bye Bir- die. The story was about an idolized singing star and the adventures he en- countered while giving a farewell performance before going off to the army. One Last Kiss Then Now ’74 April 18, 19, 20 Colour My World This year’s Junior class honored the seniors with a dinner and dance at the Decatur Club. The dinner consisted of chicken and rice, peas, salad, and sherbet. After the dinner everyone was entertained by the band Prophet Rock . At our home match we won the consolation bracket in a rather unusual game against ourselves. We also placed third in the match at Kewanee-Wethersfield. Over all, the Scholas- tic Bowl finished with a record of 19 wins and 8 losses, two of which were lost in matches against ourselves. 84 WAllllKNSllIJllG la my • NUMKUO. “1 UNO. 1 c7 rememBer underclassmen Class Marti Banton Dana Bragg Kathy Brown Cindy Brozio Danny Buckley Tim Burge of 1975 Junior class officers, top left: Gregg Winters, President; Linda Trump, Vice President, Debbie Meyer, Treasurer; and W ayne Huskey, Secretary.
