PRESENTING The 1958 CARDINAL Volume 35 Warrensburg - Latham High School Warrensburg, Illinois In Memoriam Richard Arthur Smith Class Of 1956 Dick, who will always be fondly remembered in our community as a young man of outstanding character, was both capable and dependable in any activity in which he participated. The Cardinal staff, the students and faculty members of Warrensburg- Latham High School sincerely dedicate this page to his memory. 2 Board of Education These men have contributed many long hours to help provide our com- munity with schools that will enable us, the students of Warrensburg- Latham High School, to gain the sound educational background so necessary in developing commendable citizenship. Allen spends considerable time improving our unit school district. Thanks to his tireless efforts our school is constantly being improved. He is con- stantly working or ways to increase the opportunities of the young people of our unit. Our Principal The Cardinal staff on behalf of the whole school wishes to express its apprecia- tion to Mr. Ligon, our Principal at W-L High School. His kind, friendly manner always makes the newest of students feel welcome. He works continually, giving freely of his time to make our school better in every way. His Secretaries In the years that Mrs. Janet McMillen was in the office she was able to take over many of the routine chores and keep the school running smoothly. This is her 58th va- riety. FLOYD EADS — is the only land owner in Texas that owns under 100 acres. His prop- erty is in downtown Dallas. DON SHELLEY — chief associate of the Shelley Publishing Company has just released a new book entitled, Tragedy on the Cliff” by Eileen Dover. MARY BAKER — has also lived up to her name. Our play Belles in Waiting” was very well received, and we look forward to presenting another play next year. We also sponsored the Sweetheart Dance and the Junior-Senior Prom. Class Of 1961 The freshman class is luckier than the other classes in that its mem- bers will be able to spend all four years of high school in the new building. We have also tried to do our part to make this a successful year. Due to our limited funds and experience we weren’t able to hold any dances or present any plays, but we did write to each governor and ask for a letter of congratulations on our new high school.
