Farm Bureau Demonstrates Car Safety Students assist state police in measur- ing stopping distance of car. A Farm Bureau representative adjusts the special apparatus on the car used to show when the brakes were applied. The demonstration proved to be an eye-opening experiment to show just how far a car can travel after the brakes have been applied. W-L At Halloween SCHOOL BUS A group of Warrensburg-Latham bus drivers ■ enter their float, a highly decorated bus, in the Halloween Parade. Sock Hop-A Real Success No shoes are in sight at the Sock Hop sponsored by the Juniors on November 21, 1956. Physics Classes Prove Earth Rotates Using a pendulum suspended from the gymnasium rafters, a stop watch and a compass, the physics classes prove, in a four-hour long experiment, that the earth rotates. Seniors Choose Play . . . Richard Howe, Charles Cheffer, Carol Dial, Mary Ann Plankenhorn, and Marilyn Newlin concentrate during tryouts. In a couple of weeks, the play begins to take shape. . The Warrensburg-Latham band spent another active, educational year under the direction of two different instructors. The second semester director was Mr. Stout; the first semester director was Mr. Springer. The officers for the year were: President, Bob Jones; Vice-President, Sandra Hanes; Secretary, Joyce Sefton. The marching band marched in the Halloween parade in Warrensburg and the Santa Claus parade in Decatur; the concert band gave a Christmas concert; the dance band played at the senior play, the gym festival at Latham, and the FFA banquet; and the pep band played at basketball games. At the district contest in Mt. Pulaski, the concert band and the en- sembles all received second place ratings. Right Half of Band, First Row.
