Cheerleaders KJ ML.Ld.tL'.c1H 1 Q Q,-L3 ni!-Ll 1 n anet Smlth Sandra Hrlllard Carol Butt Kay Pullms Emmy Baker These are the students who do much to bulld good sportsmanshrp among the student body by exhrbntmg good sportsmanshrp themselves m all of the1r acnons The grrls earn the rrght to represent the1r school at all basketball games by trymg out and then bemg selected by the student body as the gurls most lnkely to be able to marntam the proper sp1r1t at the h1gh school games These gurls keep fmt by followmg trammg rules and by four hours practlce a week They must mamtam a C average rn the1r academxc subyects We feel the above glrls have represented our school well durrng thus year and we are proud that they were awarded the cheerleaders trophy at the Macon County Tournament as the best cheerleaders rn the county A newly organrzed group at W L Hrgh School thns year was the Pep Club wrth Mrs Clayton as the sponsor Members of the club purchased whxte sweat shnrts with a Cardrnal rnsrgnra on them and a whrte hat to wear at the home games where they sat rn a reserved sectron of the bleachers The members prcked up corn on three drfferent days to earn money to help pay for the use of a bus to take students to the away from home games Thrs club formed an enthusrasnc nucleus for a late cheermg sectron at each of the basketball games 66- .
