CLASS ? XOPrJECy This past summer, as I made my annual summer trip to the West Coast, I had the unusual luck of running into everyone of MY CLASSMATES WITH WHOM I WAS GRADUATED IN 1943—JUST 10 SHORT YEARS AGO. After debating whether to take my car, a Sibmobile, or to FLY IN THE NEWEST LIGHTWEIGHT AIRPLANE CALLED THE SPITZER Special , I finally decided to keep on the ground and go in my CAR. As YOU MAY NOT KNOW THE SlBMOBILE IS PRODUCED BY THE Sibmobile Auto Company of which Mr. Jesse Sibthorp, the renowned AND MUCH PUBLICIZED MILLIONAIRE, IS PRESIDENT. ThE AIRPLANE IS MANUFACTURED BY Mr. WiLLIrM SPtTZER, ONE OF THE SPITZER TWINS AND HE IS BECOMING FAMOUS FOR HIS SPLENDID AIRPLANES. AS I JOURNEYED WESTWARD MY FIRST STOP WAS AT DENVER, COLORADO, WHERE I WAS THE GUEST OF Mr. AND MRS. HUBERT BANKSON. MRS. BANKSON WAS THE FORMER MARILYN ALB IN AND SHE NOW MANAGES THE FINANCES OF THEIR BEAUTIFUL 15,000 ACRE RANCH. WHEN HUBERT SUGGESTED MY LOOKING AT SOME OF HIS LIVESTOCK HIS FAVORITE STILL BEING BERKSHIRES AND HEREFORDS—WHO SHOULD TURN OUT TO BE MY ESCORT but Helen Janvrin, the chief herdsman and bronco buster. While Helen and I talked of our former classmates, she told me where Frank Kershner was living, and so my next stop was in Arizona to see him. As I DROVE INTO HIS FILLING STATION DRIVE, OUT POPPED A HANDSOME MAN WITH MUSTACHE AND PARTIALLY GREY HAIR. STILL FULL OF VIM, AND VIGOR AND A READY SMILE, I IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZED HIM A8 THE MISCHEVIOUS FRANK KERSHNER. AFTER QUITE A CHAT WITH HIM, 1 HESITATINGLY DROVE AWAY. At the Swanky tea room in Hollywood I was waited on dy the owner herself, Dorothy Swank. She told me where to find the D. H. F. Studios, the owner being D. H. Fawcett. The following DAY I FOUND THE D. H. F. STUDIOS. In THE RECEPTION ROOM OF HIS MAGNIFICIENT OFFICES I WAS MET BY PHYLLIS DlCKMElER, HIS COMBINATION WIFE AND SECRETARY. SHE TOLD ME THEY WERE NOW MAKING A PICTURE STARRING THE GREAT LOVER HERBERT ARCHIBALD, WHOM YOU know as Herbert Gulick. I almost forgot to tell you, Mary Keister, conductor of the all girl orchestra, is the fiance of Herbert and is starred in the same picture with him. During that evening, as I was sitting in my hotel room LISTENING TO THE RADIO, I HEARD A FAMILIAR VOICE WHICH I COULD BARELY RECOGNIZE. IMMEDIATELY I TOOK THE SPITZER TAXI TO THE RADIO STATION WHERE I SAW THIS ANNOUNCER} A NEW WAR CORRESPONDENT, Robert Trusner, who is making quite a name for himself in THE RADIO WORLD. THIS PROGRAM IS SPONSORED BY SCHNEIDER'S SOUP Company , the newest thing in quick meals. At least that is what Ruth Robinson said, for she is the announcer for one of the programs AND GIVES HOUSEHOLD HINTS. At the Hollywood Department store I was waited on by none other than Florence Dial, who is manager of the jewelery Department. Florence related to me that the owner of this colossal 15

store is Mr. Robert McCane, While in the store I met Lois Hays who is dress designer tor Lana Turner, and since she was on a SHOPPING TOUR TOR MlSS TURNER, WE HAH A LENGTHY TALK ABOUT ALL THE EVENTS THAT HAD TAKEN PLACE DURING THE PAST 10 YEARS. Mary Huffman was the only girl in my class of whcm I had not heard, but Lois told me that she was secretary to the Dean of Women at Stanford University in Stanford, California. My next stop was at Stanford to look Mary up. After finding Mary, 1 learned that her name was now Culp and since her husband was WORKING ON HIS MASTERS DEGREE THERE, SHE WAS WORKING AT THE University. After my most enjoyable trip to see all my former class MATES, AND AFTER HAVING A MOST EVENTFUL VACATION, I, EUGENE Marshall, returned to my 500 acre farm near Decatur, Illinois WHERE I SPEND MOST OF EVERY SUMMER. DURING EACH WINTER SEASON I teach Agriculture at my Alma Mater, Warrensburg Community High School. This year I shall have many pleasant memories of the ASSOCIATIONS WITH MY CLASSMATES, AND I SAY GOD BLESS THEM TILL WE MEET AGAIN. 16
