last home t11t of the season and the v1ctory insured the WHS grld ders of at least a tie for the con ference tltle The Bengals led 20 0 at the end of the 1n1t1al period and held a 36 0 advantage t half time Adr1ans only touchdown came 1n the fourth quarter against the T1g 61 reserves when halfback B111 Hancock went 5 yards around end The k1ck for the extra po1nt was blocked Warrensburg started their touch down parade as soon as the game got under way returning the k1ck ofl to the Adrian 46 Jlm Collins moved the ball to the 27 in two tries and Joe DeBacker went a round left end to score Ron rleatherly went through the mxd dle cn a fake k1ck for the con vers1on went 54 yards around left end for the second tally 1n the perxod and tnen went through on a fake k1Ck for the extra point Ted Dowler Tiger guard got ll1tO the act on the next touch oown when he 1ntercepted an Adr1an aerial and ran 20 yards to pay dirt Pete Wextzel attempt ed to run the extra po1nt but was stopped In the second quarter Collins crashed through center fo 5 y rds and a score after a pass 1ntercept1on by Charles Semor h d g1ven the Bengals possess on of the ball Colllns ran the extra po1nt The Txgers added 2 more po1nts on safety when Adr1an was downed in thelr own end zone Before the half ended J1m P1eschel went off tackle for 39 yards to score and Collins con xerted wlth a place k1ck The Tigers came back after the h lf to recover a Blackhawk fum ble on the Adrian 35 Collins galned 2 then a pass by Heath erly settled 1nto John Weltzels arms Just as he crossed the goal une Col11ns was stopped on an attempt to run the convers1on TIGERS DROP CONTEST TO LEXINGTON 613 The W H S Tlgers rece1ved their second defeat th1s year at the hands of the Lexington M1n utemen at the CMSC stad1um No vember 4 Fumbles and an aerlal attack that backfired proved the Bengals downfall when prom1s lllg drlves were halted by one or the other Lexington took a 6 0 lead 111 the second quarter when MCAIIS ter Lex1ngton fullback mtercep ted a Warrensburg pass and went 46 yards to score untouched M AllSte1 s place klCk for the con version was blocked The second Lexlngton tally came 1n the th1rd per1od when a Warrensburg lateral was snatched in m1d field by a Mlnuteman and run to the Bengal 24 yard l1ne before being downed From there Lexington moved to the 5 yard line where Horton went around end to score A pass from McAl1s ter to Edwards netted the extra point The Tlgers scored IH the late m1nutes of the contest to cl1max who had reeled off long runs throughout the game went through the middle from the 3 to pay d1rt An attempted place klCk for conversion was blocked STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS The Central MISSOUPI D1str1ct Student Council Assoc1at1on was organized at CMSC October 20 Warrensburg High School and College Hlgh co sponsored he meet1ng The eleven schools presented wrote and rat1f1ed const1tut1on and elected officers as follows College Hlgh pres1dent Eldon vice president W1ll1am Chrlsman secretary Warrensburg High treasurer Plans for a meet 1ng to be held this spring were d1scussed Tlgers Roll Over Adrlan fContD The final Warrensburg touch down came after a long pass by DeBacker to the left s1de of the field was lncomplete An 1dent1cal pass down the opposlte side was completed to P1eschel to net 71 ymrds and the counter The con VCFSIOD attempt failed Tugers Moul Holden To Toke WCC Tltle The WHS T1gers romped to a 40 0 vxctory over the1r arch r1v als the Holden Eagles at Holden November 18 to finlsh the season as und1sputed champions of the West Central Conference and 120 w1n the newly 1nst1tuted Sports mansh1p Trophy The Bengals Jumped to an early lead after an Eagle fumble gave Wanensburg possesslon of the p1gsk1n on the Holden 22 yard l1ne A first down moved the ball to the 8 where two tr1es by Joe DeBacker advanced It to the 1 yard str1pe and John Weltzel plunged through the mlddle for the counter Ron Heatherly an the extra po1nt on a fake k1ck After the k1ckoff by Warrens burg and an exchange of the ball the T1gers drove to the Holden b where the Holden 11ne stiffened and held the Bengals on the SIX mch lxne Holden punted out of danger but Warrensburg return ed to the Holden 35 and drove m the second quarter on two flrst DeBacker moved the ball to the J where John Weitzel went a round left end to score and went off tackle on a fake k1ck for the conversion The Tigers again struck pay dirt shortly before the end of the first half when Holden punted md Warrensburg aga1n returned 11 into Holden territory th1s tlme tc the 37 yard l1ne Two first downs advanced the ball to the la where DeBacker went for 5 and John We1tze1 skirted left end for the touchdown Heatherlys kick from placement for the con version was wide and the half ended Wlth the score 20 0 The next Bengal tally came late lll the third per1od on a 42 yard spr1nt by DeBacker after War rensburg had taken over the ball on a Holden punt Heatherlys k1Ck struck a goal post and bounc ed back onto the field After the k1ckoff Holden drove to the Tiger 25 but lost the ball on downs and the Bengals started a dr1ve that was cllmaxed when Pete Wextzel went off tackle from
