They debated Holden, upholding the affirmative and Won with a unanimous decision, Their second round was with Centerview, upholding the negativeg this also was won by another unanimous decis- ion. Y . - Y -4 BITTER-SWEET ANNE, On the Festival Day, in a certain kingdom, the people have planned to pro- claim a republic. Princess Diane, the King's grand-daughter, who, had been sum- moned to his death bed, arrives from Nice where she has been for ten years. In the garden, Papa Jule's daughter, Zeta, awaits the coming of Princess Diane through an old tunnel which they had discovered when children. In Ft there was a room filled with treasures, proving that their grandfathers had been pirates. Zeta and the Princess never told of their find for fear of ghosts. Captain Roger Lee arrives to do stunt flying and Princess Diane recognizes him the man she was attracted to in Nice, but because of his remarks against royalty, she begs Zeta not to tell l1im she is a princess. Two pretenders to the throne who arrive to steal the crown jewels, are caught, but the jewels with which the people expected to carry on the revolution are gone. The King diesg the people proclaim a republicg Diane whom Roger calls Bitter- Sweet Anne refuses to give up her throne, She lies down to rest alld has a dream. Time rolls back two hundred years to the time of King Gus the pirate, and them' comes on down to the present time. The pretenders proclaim themselves King and Queen: the princess and her friends are arrested and even her own people are about to do her bodily harm. Wheii Zeta awakens her, she cannot believe her terrible. experiences have been a dream. Papa Jules is told of the treasure in the tunnel and Anne insists that he use it all for the cause of liberty. One of her picturesque lie-s, namely, that she and her husband are sim- ply wallowing in luxury, even. to then point of keep-ing a butler, reaches the ears of her well-to-do aunt, who pays her an unexpected visit. The fourflusher puts up at gallant fight to S-ave her face, borrowing enough household furnishings to hide from aunty the most obvious signs of poverty, and pressing hen' long suffering husbandiinto s.ervice as the butler. Now aunty has never met hubbyg so, when it becomes necessaryto trot out some kind of a husband for inspection, Mary digs up a quick-witted stranger, who oblig- ingly passes himself off as her husband. The step-husband, though a good four- llusher, is no match for Mary and soon has thelm both in hot water.
