Kids Into Health Fields The Medical Careers Club is designed for those students who are thinking about entering any of the vast number of health fields today. This may range from recreational therapist to nurse to medical doctor. The Medical Careers Club’s Advisor, Miss L’Hommedieu, retired in December, however, the students still had meetings on their own later. Outdoors Unlimited activities varied from selling cookies and cake to standing in the rain to skiing down mountains. In September, the club had a car wash which was located at our school. While the car wash was in progress, some of the other members were running two bake sales, one in Washington and one in Mansfield. The winter retreat was located at Walpack Environmental Center. It was on January 11 and 12, and they had rain. The hike to Tillman’s Ravine was enhanced by rain. It was a unique experience for the entire group. The club took five ski trips to Camelback in January and February and a weekend ski trip to Sugarbush. The students that went were novice, inter- mediate and expert. The weather was cold but that added to the atmosphere. Many students have aspirations of going again next year. RIGHT: Doug Drcnnon, Ward Connolly, and Jim Stano wash a van during the car wash.
