The seniors proved their scholastic ability by making a good showing on the 'A' and 'B' honor rolls throughout the year. Again showing their ability to stay on top, the seniors took first prize on their home- coming float. Adding to the homecoming activities was the election of the Homecoming Queen, Barb Dougherty, and her attendants, Mary Lee Stancyk and Sharon Ulrich. As a climax to the 1957 Home- coming season, the Warren Ponies were victorious over the Northwest Aggies. The senior boys are well represented on the football, track, basketball, and baseball squads. Chosen as captain for the '57-'58 football season was Bob Sailor. Musically talented in Chorus, Glee Club and Band, this class is also represented in Declamation, Class Plays, the Chronicle and Annual Staffs, and Cheerleading. As the seniors stepped to the refrains of Pomp and Circumstance, they ended their days at Warren High. Their school days will always be among their fondest memories as they look ahead into a bright future . Officers Stanley Sirck, Vice-Pres. Lillian Tangcn, Sec., Jcan Larson, Treas. Wilfred Johnson -V 'K - X Q T X ff Sit down everyone --- Alright, let's begin with 'Anchors Aweigh' --- and so another rehearsal of the Warren High Senior Band is underway. The band didn't lose any time after the summer vacation. Under the direction of Mr. Wilfred Johnson, work began at once. They added variety to many an activity such as parades, games, pep- fests, and concerts. But, as always, the goal to work for was the District Contest where the band always makes a good showing and proves to be a credit to Warren High. All this takes many hard hours of work, but it is rewarding to everyone concerned. 4 ,I 1 U T FIRST ROW: M. Stancyk, secretary-treasurerg B. ' Dougherty,president3 J. Larson, vice-president. The highlight of this season's play was the team's 20-'7 Homecoming victory over Crookston A.C. . as 3 Although eight seniors will graduate from this year's squad, there are many outstanding younger Qi players to. take their places and bring Warren High i v a good football team next year. That was the general pattern of Wl-lS's 1957 Homecoming held the fourth of October. Barb Dougherty was crowned the 1957 Homecoming Queen by football captain, Bob Sailor, on Friday afternoong and she and her two attendants, Sharon Ulrich and Mary Lee Stancyk, reigned for the rest of the day and evening. In the afternoon parade the seniors walked off with first prize with their float entitled Run 'Em Ragged. The Freshman class came in second with We're Leaping to Victory and the Junior float, Shake 'Em Up, came in third. After the game the traditional Homecoming Dance was held in the Auditorium, which was decorated in blue and white. Another first--a small orchestra played. Here Queen Barb was once again presented to her subjects. 37 BASKETB LL TEAM C FIRST ROW: B. Sailor. SECOND ROW: T. Black, W. Strandell. THIRD ROW: B. Gilbert, G. Sol- monson, W. Edgar.
