For the first time members of the Future Homemakers of America participated in the Recognition Day at Lan- caster. The club was represented by a Parliamentary Procedure Team, consisting of ten girls and one alternate . Gwen Mathews, Jennifer Rowley, and Lottie Hostottle made up a Public Speaking Team. Susan Brauer won second place in the Consumer Discussion Competition. Sharon Tackett, Kim Brown and Deann Hendershot received the Award of Merit. The Betty Crocker award winner was Jan Hunter. LIBRARY CLUB The purpose of the Library Club is to raise money for improvements in the library. One money making project was the book fair. The money will be used to make a screening room for the students' use. They also plan to make cushions to use in front of the paperback section which will make the library more comfortable. The FFA started the year by selling 1400 boxes of fruit. They participated in a state judging contest and placed 53rd in the milk division, 44th in wool, 83rd in dairy, 158th in general livestock, and 24th in agronomy. Two hundred people attended the parent-member banquet with many awards being presented. Susie Barrett was elected as South East Section Vice-President for next year.
