ATIO AL HO OR SOCIETY The National Honor Society is an organization designed to honor outstanding students who excel in the categories of Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. The Society held the induction of new members and sponsored Student of the Week for the various departments in school. Letters were purchased for the graduating N.H.S. members. Y' NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY INITIATES ROW 1: Ron Lupardus, Lynn Cowell, Ruth Aebi, Darrell Short, Kim Arnold, Margaret Jordan. ROW 2: Cinhy Lawton, Mary Augustine, Valerie Hanger, Jeff McKinney, Mary Beth Oliver. ROW 3: Saundra Secoy, Kathy Huettel, Patty Gibson, Susie Barrett.

ROW 4: Phil Spindler, Charlie Buck, - The Student Council is active in helping the student body, faculty, and administration. Throughout the year there were many activities in which Student Council members were involved. All the activities during Homecoming week, including the dance, were arranged by Student Council. Other activities during the year included having three movies, a dance, a fund raising day for Muscular Dystrophy, and at Easter having two Easter Bunnies give each teacher an Easter egg. Stories and poems were written and the members studied each others' papers and made suggestions to improve them. Mr. Bedilion was the FUTURE TEACHERS The purpose of the Future Teachers Association is to give students who plan to seek a career in teaching, a chance to find information and to experience what it is like to sponsoring teacher' be a teacher. Mr. Craig is the sponsoring teacher for the club. The most useful project the club was involved in this year was tutoring at Barlow-Vin- cent Grade School. During their club meet- A ings, different teachers came in and dis- cussed college requirements, teaching WRITING ROW 1: Susan Suprano, Debbie Frederick, Mr. Bedilion. ROW 2: Ruth Aebi, Donna Meek, Debbie Freshour. fields, and other things the students need to know to become teachers. It is a good way to prepare them for the teaching world .
