Here are some happenings in a year we'll never forget: The coldest winter we can remember. More snow than we've ever seen. The energy crisis and the gas shortage. School closings from lack of fuel, money, and bad roads. A year when our school levy was defeated. Mr. Gainer was elected Auditor of West Va. The swine flu vaccine episode. We went sleigh riding and ice skating. We walked on the ice on the Ohio River. We saw snow muffs which looked like donuts Warren made 102 points in one ball game. Dennis made 45 points in one game. Christmas vacation began December tenth. The last day of school was June tenth. What a way to get a drink! I supported Carter. gh? g M3 . - gg f--A-: i ' . X We're in the dog house. Henry Burton - PASS IT ON Raul Alejandro Garcia Garibay, son of Ramiro and Emi- lia Garcia, was the second foreign exchange student at Warren. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, he now lives with his family, which consists of his parents, one brother Rogelio and three sisters, Martha, Margarita, and Mirna . Rogelio and Margarita are also foreign exchange students residing in Michigan and Indiana respectively. He was with us for nine months, living with the Gary Wilson family . His schedule at Warren consisted of Art, Chorus, Civ- ics, Phys. Ed., Spanish, Algebra, and English, com- pared to that of Chemistry, Algebra, English, Litera- ture, Phys. Ed. , History, and Religion at Mexico. He was involved in the Spanish Club and was also a member of the Spanish Honor Society. In Mexico, Raul enjoys soccer, otherwise known as futbol. Raul said that there aren't many differences between here and Mexico, and he made the adjustment easily. When asked what he liked the most he said the people were great, but made it clear that he disliked English. His favorite foods are hamburgers and french fries, compared to tacos in Mexico. We enjoyed having Raul as a student here, and are looking forward to more foreign exchange students in the future. We also want to mention that Willy Aroca, our foreign exchange student of last year, has come back to work toward graduation at Warren High School. Willy's fam- ily lives in Peru and he is living at Fleming with the Gary Graham family. She really has a way with fish. By sharing together our moods of happiness, disappointment, success, and failure we have accumulated fond memories that will be with us many years after we leave Warren. Even though we may come back to visit. the halls will never again ring with the laughter of the class of 7'7. . 'The past four years weren't all studies. There were football games, dances, pep rallies, movies, and assemblies which are sure to affect our future lives. , This year's Homecoming festivities were reigned over by Queen Vicki Lowe and her escort. The sign contest awards were nearly a clean sweep as the Seniors won Theme and Quality and tied for Originality. As we led the school in athletics we also led in scholastic achievements. Our senior year consisted of ordering announcements and name cards, being measured for caps and gowns, exchanging senior pictures, choosing the blue daisy and silver and blue as our flower and color. As graduation brings our final year to an end, we are proud to display our motto , Where no other has gone, let us be the first. ,,,,..-f STEPHANIE ACREE MICHAEL ADAMS RUTH AEBI CHRIS ANDERSON SENI ORS Kwik' KIMBERLY ARNOLD MARK ATKINSON CHARLES BARNETT WC- YRl R O ROL BARNITZ , 1ff, .kfLH lLi...g ff- W IISRII I 1 MARK BARTON KIMBERLY BENEDICT DEBRA BINEGAR LARRY BOGGS CYNTHIA BOLDEN TIM BONNETTE ROBIN BOONE DON BOYER MONICA BROOKER TOM BROOKHART AMANDA BROOKOVER ROBERT BROOKOVER SUSAN BROWN KEVIN BURNS EARL CARPENTER THOMAS CARPENTER MIKE CHEVALIER RICKY CHIDESTER NORA CHRISTIAN MIKE CLATTERBUCK JULIE COE PAM CALLIHAN 1. llli STEVEN COE IAY COTTRILL RUDL CROSTON DEAN SENIORS KEVIN DECKER WILLIAM DOBBINS LU ANN DILLON VERONICA DICKSON CARRIE EATON ...........,.,.-mfw. The Junior girls contributed much to a very successful Warriorette basketball season . ' Hessie of the Hi11s was the successful Junior class play with Jim Wright and Gwen Mathews in the leading roles. For the '76-77 Homecoming, Mary Beth Oliver represented the Junior class as attendant. Her escort was Randy Farley . Candy bars were sold to raise money for the Junior-Senior Prom. Business and other agricultural related areas. Vocational Agricul- ture students don't spend all their time in the class room. Learning by doing plays an important part in Vocational Agriculture. For example, students go to other farms and get first hand experience they need in keeping records and managing their own enterprises. VOCA TI ONAL A GRI C UI. The members of the Science Research Club are interested in conservation and have made hawk silhouettes to hang in the hall ways. Since our corridors are enclosed by glass, birds often are injured or killed when they fly against the glass. These silhouettes have been made to keep birds from flying into the windows. JS ROW 1: Mr. Schaad, Bill West, Clair Sullivan Tim Snyder Danny Grimm. ROW 2: Tim Clatterbuck, Gary Murrey Jeff West Jeff Smith, Don Busch. ROW 3: Greg Nicholson Gary Gaughan Jeff b bl b h 1 Waite, Doug McAtee, Melvin Graham ROW 4 Steve Thomp admire ZloufldPxthim?theeB:31ZCC?o son, Jeff Males, Steve Dolak, Mike Clatterbuck Gerald n pap Y Pottmeyer, Brian Caseman. The Industrial Arts Club sponsored a basketball game against the faculty to raise money for projects. Some of these projects included building a hutch cabinet for raffles, making benches for the smoking areas, and making pot holders and salad bowls to sell. Their tears fell , unrestrained through the long night and day. The sun looked down upon your silent lips And hid its golden light in the sympathy of an eclipse. For you who loved the open sunlit sky , . Trees, the water, and the birds that fly , You'll not be walking across the broad green landg God walked this way - and He gently took your hand , l . To lead you Home. And now when we see grey skies or hear the sounds of rain , We'll not weep too long p nor mind the sudden paing p For where YOU are now, I the lovel never dies, l , Y And you shall WALK I FOREVER ' under sunlit skies. . . . written by Mrs. Maurice Fleming l 4 Q .l 3 g l ' 1 IN MEMORY OF CHRISTINE ANDERSON , L The students of Warren High will always remember Chris Anderson, and the many happy times we have had together. Chris was a happy, active person throughout her life and could cheer anyone up even in the hardest pg p of times. As we walked down the halls the presence of Chris was always there as she spoke to everyone she 7 l met. , ' Chris was very active in the band and chorus. Anywhere the band went, she kept them smiling and was always leading the group in singing and dancing. She was in all the chorus activities, and spring reviews. Chris was also involved in many clubs in school as well as many activities outside school. -, ' 1 i 6 would have, being friendly, happy, and nice to everyone we meet. Editors: D. S. and K. A.
