The Sciences, Chemistry, Physics and Biology, Earth Science and General Science, give a student a deeper insight into life and help him to relate himself to the universe in which he lives. These sciences make the student think for himself and lead him to ask questions about himself and all living matter. He begins to see the relationship between himself and his environment, which constantly influences him. Through the microscope he sees the cell, the structural and functional unit of life, magnified many times its size. ln the lab he discovers through experimentation the basic properties of matter and the laws of nature. He learns about atoms which make up all matter and molecules which are constantly moving and reacting with their environment. Seeing life and matter at this complex level and attempting to understand it increases the student's appreciation of himself, his world, and his Creator. Mr. Max Smith
