Rose S UPERIN TEN DEN T OF SCHOOLS To the Class of '64: You are a part of the revolution that is currently taking place in science, sociology, politics and technology in business and industry. It is my sincerest wish that you become an active part of these great changes and developments. You will he living and working in the year 2000, which is only 36 years away. Who knows what will take place at this time? The competitive position of any country, on earth or in space, will depend upon your generation for ideas, products, government and social progress. The rate at which new ideas are developing cannot be conceived by the human mind. In science alone, new knowledge has increased by a factor of l, 000, 000 since the time of Newton. My humble advice to you in developing a process of inquiry and a mode of thinking is to prepare yourself physically and mentally in order that you may actively participate in both the world of today and the world of tomorrow. It is only when this is done that satisfaction is achieved. 4 Algfsius C. I urge each and everyone of you, whether you are continuing your formal education or terminating it, to remember the debt you owe to your parents, for their care and attention to you during this developmental ageg to your teachers for their faith in your ability and for the unselfish way in which they assisted you up those twelve, snare -filled steps leading to maturityg to the people of the town of Warren, for their support, with- out which there wouldn't have been twelve steps to climb. , How can you pay this almostinsurmountable debt? Overcrowded and scared, we took our place in Room 9 with Mr. Lynch as our advisor. After we had braved our Talent Show fand we did have some talentb the halls began to take on a familiar look. Our officers that year were: Jeffery Haight, President, Richard Laska, Vice -President, Barbara Day, Secretary, and Sandra Urban, Treasurer. We sent Jacqueline Dupsha and Fred Morin to the Student Council. On the Girls' Basketball team we were represented by LaVerne Cholewa, Barbara Day, Marie Doktor, and Joy Sloan. Five boys made the JV's: Fred Morin, Harold Kershaw, David Ducharme, Herbert Healy, and Jerry Gaudreau, We presented a play, Weddin' Shoes, and won second prize of the four classes, and we wuz robbed! Our Sophomore year we found ourselves in two different classrooms and with new advisors, Miss Lewinski and Mr. Sloan. Our officers that year were: Herbert Healy, Presidentg Sandra Urban, Vice -President, Barbara Day, Secretary, and Irene Swett, Treasurer. The Student Council's new representative was Patricia Collins. After Varsity Cheerleaders had been selected we found Sharon Mack, regular, and Barbara Day, sub., among those chosen. Pamela LaCoste, Susan Emery, and Carol LaBarge aided those already on the Girls' Basketball Teamz Our Boys' Varsity was strengthened by Robert Perrin, David Ducharme, Herbert Healy, and Brian Baldwin, manager. Per- haps the most memorable event of the year was the visit of Ted Kennedy, now senator from Massachusetts and brother of our lately martyred President, who lectured on his South American trip. The Junior year gave us a feeling of nearing the end. Our elected officers, Brian Baldwin, Presidentg LaVerne Cholewa, Vice -President, Barbara Day, Secretary, and Sheila McCarthy, Treasurer, led us on our way to an unforgettable year. Student Council Representatives were Sheila McCarthy, Barbara Romanski, Jacqueline Dupsha, who became Secretary, and Jerry Gaudreau, who was chosen Vice -President. To Varsity Cheerleaders we sent Sandra Urban to aid those already working hard. Our Girls' Basketball Team members LaVerne Cholewa, Marie Doktor, Joy Sloan, and Barbara Day. Boys' Varsity Basketball Team was enriched by Herbert Healy, David Ducharme, and Robert Perrin. It was our pleasure to hold a reception for the Seniors that year, the theme being Hearts Are Trump. From the Reception we went on to daisy picking Cin the rainb, and finally to holding our Daisy Wands as the Seniors Graduated. Each and everyone of us could not help feeling a little twinge of remorse for in twelve short months we should be the proud possessors of caps and gowns. Our Senior Year came and went all too quickly. Our last officers were: Brian Baldwin, Presidentg LaVerne Cholewa, Vice -Presidentg Barbara Day, Secretary, and Sheila McCarthy, Treasurer. Student Council members elected were: Jacqueline Dupsha, CPresidentJ, Jerry Gaudreau, fTreasurerD, Herbert Healy, and Barbara Romanski. The co -captains of the Girls' Basketball Team were LaVerne Cholewa and Joy Sloan, Barbara Day and Marie Doktor still braved the courts. The Boys' Varsity Basketball Team was aided by Mark Dumas, Fred Morin, Donald Smith, Herbert Healy, and David Ducharme Our class was victorious in the magazine drive, winning our mascot, Lewie and fifty dollars. One of the big events of the year was our Senior Prom. The theme was Sayonara and Ann Rose was crowned queen. Our Senior Class trip of three days in New York City was unforgettable. The New York World's Fair really was a momentous event. Finally as the hours closed in, it was graduation. Q CTUVUTUES 5 it STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council is active in school affairs. Our first assembly this year introduced Miss Glendora Mclllvvain, assistant Attorney General of Massachusetts. Her excellent talk on Civil Rights and Liberties in New England, was given to a most interested audience of students and faculty. President Jacqueline Dupsha and Treasurer Gerard Cfaudreau attended the M.A.S.C. Convention held in Orleans, Massachusetts in May, l963. Council members also attended the fall convention . ofthe C.D.M.A.S.C. at West Boylston High School. We also plan to attend our C .D. conference in the spring, the M.A.S.C. Convention at Cathedral High School in Springfield in May. We also hope to attend the National Convention to be held in Bangor, Maine in june. NA TIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The National Honor Society is based on service, character, scholarship, and leader- lg ship. Four qualities in which the members are trying to obtain. I The National Honor Society consists of the top 15 per cent of the Senior class and the top lO per cent of the junior class. The Senior members are: President, Barbara Dayg Vice President, Pamela LaCosteg Secretary, Carol Blaisg Treasurer, Herbert Healy, Marie Doktor, Irene Swett, and 1 David Ducharme.
