Losing only to league leader, Centennial, in the first round, Warren was in second place at the end of the first round of play. Warren .started the .second round of play with con- secutive losses to Downey, Paramount and Lynwood, but bounced back to beat Cen- tennial, dropping them and Compton from the league lead. At the end of the .second round Warren found itself tied for first place with Lynwood and Centennial. The third round of play started with losses to Downey and Paramount. Pitehing prored to be Warrenfs' biggest weapon this gear. Tim Heins showed himself to be one of the toughest pitehers in the f'oast League play by hurling shutout wins over Downey, Lynrrood and Fompton. Jim Woodall, and Ilon Durling also eontributed sereral fine pitehing perforrnanees. Team captain, Tom I,of'ioero, at shortstop and second baseman, Al Poutts, sparked a sometime brilliant, sometime erratic, infield defense.
