Homecoming is Swept With New Ideas A few new ideas such as sunglasses day, leap frog, and an obstacle course were added to Student Council's plans for this year's Homecoming activities. During each day of the week, students participated in different events such as hat day, girls' and boys' hush days, and sunglasses day. Wednesday afternoon the classes competed against each other in leap frog, musical chairs, bubblegum blowing, tug-of-war, obstacle course, tricycle racing, and egg toss. Seniors took first place overall. Thursday night the sophomore and junior girls competed against the freshman and senior girls in a powderpuff football game and won by one touchdown. Every evening of the week was spent constructing class floats, in which the seniors again took first place. A Wizard of Oz theme was used throughout the week. 1. Shelly Kopp, Trudy Mullen and Colleen Holland battle for first place in the freshman musical chairs. 2. Freshman boys struggle for the championship in tug-o-war. 3. Chris Dagle, John Long, and Ronda Horsman watch as Deb Fernstaedt, Peggy Raab, and Tina Taylor participate in the bubblegum blowing contest for the junior class. 30 Homecoming
