THEY PROTEST On March 13, 1981, approximately 100 students were involved in a protest against the administration's plan of not recommending Mr. Benter for rehiring. Mr. Benter was a first year teacher and coach at Warren. Ninety-two detentions were given for the walk-out Friday and 17 were given for the following Monday. After the school board decided not to rehire him, approximately 75 students walked outside instead of reporting to classes on March 18. Students were also involved in gathering petitions to protest the board's decision. One thousand six hundred and fifty tickets were sold to students to support the basketball team during sectionals and supersectionals. 2 8 Student Life
