The Warren High School Band be- gan and ended the school year as a marching band. Each fall band members practice marching for football halftime shows and also march in parades in other towns. This year they attended Shullsburg and Lanark's homecoming parades. Our homecoming show, Windy City Dialogue, was very successful. After football season it was all concert because the band sat down to work on Christmas and Spring Concerts. In the late fall Mr. Oc- chipinti organized a stage band which practiced at 7:30 a.m. They hope to perform for the grade school and some basketball games. Selected members of the band at- tended the County Festival and many performed in the Solo and Ensemble Contest. On Memorial Day the band once again became a marching band, performing for the annual cere- monies in Apple River. President and Student Director was Donna Chumbler; Joan Winter, Vice President; Janet Winter, Sec- retary; and Ron Mathisen, Trea- surer; Jiliane Groom and Donna Chumbler, Librarians. 24 Band Reaches Out With Music
