-------- —— -------WARREN HI ECHOES ------------------------------- — Dramatics JUNIOR CLASS PLAY On Ncvmber 15 and 16 the Juniors- presented Lights Out.” It was an evening of chills and laughter. Agnes Harwood invited several acquaintances for a week end at the Stilwell estate with the hope of finding a buyer. Doris Harwood, daughter of Mrs. Harwood, receives a letter warning her not to sell the house. She tel s Neil Parker, a young detective writer she is in love with. That night the quests play a game called “Murder.” A guest po ed as Vicky Wayne dissappears and the real Vicky Wayne arri.es on the scene. Step by step Neil un:overs the veiled secrets of the house. SENIOR CLASS PLAY In May the Seniors gave “Good Night, Ladies.” The Rawleigh youngsters (Luella Leverton, Elsie Sullivan, and Joe Fouchard inherited a house and are using it for a dormitory supervised by two aunts. The aunts' arrival is delayed and the Dean (Elizabeth Wean refuses to let Judy (Pat Sauer) and her brother George West Merl Thomasson) stay. Later Professor Dexter (James Walker) and Betty London (Gertrude Walken Lulu Glffen (Joyce Haffele) and Angela Rimini (Dorothy Barker) arrive. With the help of Larry Dobson (Harold Hintz). Jug Brcwn (Jim Rufenacht) and Sam Rawleigh play the pm of the aunts. Life is merry and happy until the Dean find out the hoax. With the help of the Professor everything ends right. ASSEMBLY PROGRAMS This year several interesting assembly programs were held. Mr. Sam Grathwell of the F. B. I. told the story of the G-Man and his work. Later, on November 12. Mr. Henry J. Williams presented entertainment by placing and explaining the harp. Mr. Wil iams is cf Welsh nationality and has been in the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra for over thirty years. On March 29 Mr. E. Rowlands gave a talk on the value of a hobby. He is the world’s foremost autograph collector. Before the music and speech constants left they gave their numbers before the a sembly. SPEECH CONTESTS The All-Schco' Forensic Program was held February 20. 1946. Those who participated in this were: Orotorical Declamation Errol Rhodda — The Story of a Boy Verse Reading j Dorothy Barker—Four Little Foxes, Blue Squills, and August Moonrhe. Humorous Reading Marjorie Barker—An Interview Tei Balbac—A Suitor in a Suitcase Phyllis Haffe’e—Janie Extemporaneous Speaking Joe Fouchard—The UNO and How It Works Phyllis Haffele was choen as the best speaker in humorous reading. There was no competition in any other group, so everyone else was chosen to go to Freeport, March 9, for the district contest. Joe Fouchard was the on y representative eligible to go to the Rockford Sectional, having won .’ourth place in Freeport. Phyl’is Haffele received fifth place. She and Joe both ranked as second In B“ Class.
