The school bond issue passed last November. That chalks up an- other fine service for the schools on the part ot the Board of Edu- cation and citizens of Warren. The student Speakers' Bureau did their part too. Take a look at these new teach! ers the Board sent us. Their faces tell the story-they are delighted to belong Some ot them are al- ready old friends, for they come to us from lunior Hiahs. All are Warrenites except three. Mr. Gan- der hails from Leavittslourap Miss lewell, from Girardg Miss Kensy, from Youngstown. Hi-ya. Gang! Frank Schrader, loan Robertson, Kenneth Barton, Boy Kulala, lune Bae Harper, Prexy Bill Cooper give the glad-hand. LlEE BEGINS: September 2- and We, nineteen hundred strong, pour through the Harding portals. We rush to get into that certain class at that certain period with that certain chum. Glad hellos echo through the halls. A seige on lockers is inevitable. The lU-B's leave the auditorium initiation rites with dazed expressions. The Worried and distressed wait in line at the deans' and principal's offices for the privilege of com- plaining about their schedules. Something new has been add- ed, we all say, cocking our ears to hear the voices pour from those black boxes in the rooms. lt's the Booster Club's pet project-room- to-room broadcasting system-eX- plains Mr. Carleton, who trains his boys to operate this intricate machine. Mr. Mollenkopf and Mr. Lovett use the mike to urge sportsmanship at b a s lc e t b a l l games or to relay last minute flashes. Mighty convenient thati With defense industry booming, new students join the Harding family. Throughout the year, the Deans receive many calls for stu- dents to Work part-time. Mike -minded Smiles Principal Milton Mollenkopf, Dean O. A. Lovett, Dean Ieannette Bisdon enrolls a newcomer, Dorothy and Clayton H. Carleton, Physics and Visual Flower.
