STUDENT CGUNCIL JT BTrs. Clara K. Webb and H. C. Wagner devote much time to the Student Council, as faculty sponsors. 'The officers this year included: President, George Gentithes, H. R. Lilley, Vice,President, Howard Nlorrisong Secretary, Jean Blair, VVinifred Daugherty, Treasurer, Nlike Hydic, Raymond Price. The Student Council assists in many Ways in governing the school. lts chief duties are second-hand bookstore, lost and found drawer, hall duty, care of the cafe- teria, and the Well-known monitor system. The Student Council Hafzrl Hook, which contains the rules of the school, is given to each newcomer. Our Armistice Day assembly and two student dances were in charge of the Council. A contribution was made to the Community Fund and clothes Were secured for the poor. The Council also furnished funds for the Kent and Special Senior examinations. MCDNITGRS The Klonitor system is a branch of Student Government activity which is pro- viding great and necessary aid in securing better organized traffic conditions and more orderliness in the corridor. Each chairman is on duty one hour daily, during Which time he supervises eight men who have been assigned a position. These monitors are selected as a competent group of boys who give their best for the betterment of the school. The monitors are headed by the president of the student body. The six chairmen serving under George Gentithes were: Alvin Jones, Huston Pippenger, Harold Smith, Klike Hydic, Jason Nloore, and Robert Lind. Those serving under H. R. Lilley were: Carl Lundy, Alvin Jones, Joseph Hapgood, Gordon Christie, David Dennison, and James Thornhill. Page Sixty-one
