ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE The goal of English as a Second Lan- guage provides Easton students with nec- essary survival skills to function effective- ly within the American English speaking society. Students are expected to learn enough basic English vocabulary and structure to successfully perform within the school and community environment. We feel that correct English is an essential part of our future plans. The large staff helps the stu- dents make better use of the English lan- guage. The head of this hard working depart- ment is Miss Mabel Benjamin who works along with eleven other members of the de- partment. The goals of this department are to effec- tively increase the reading score levels on the C.T.B.S. test and to establish minimum com- petencies in reading and writing. IT ALL ADDS UP- MATH DEPARTMENT Einstein was probably the only person who never needed help with math. Unfortunately, everyone isn't Einstein. But you can be if you try, with the help of our math department. The math department is led by Mr. Dillon. From Math 1 to Algebra and Trig, the depart- ment covers all the essentials for the future. Scores have risen, and students feel more comfortable with their math abilities.
