AN EAGLE RETURNS Dr. Barbara Ferguson We are happy to welcome our new principal. Dr. Barbara Ferguson, a former graduate of Easton. Dr. Ferguson has also attended the University of New Orleans where she received her doctorate degree in Education. Dr. Ferguson thinks that the students of Warren Easton are intelligent, responsi- ble and school spirited. She is in favor of the rules and regulations that set us apart from the others, and say that she would rather be here than any other school. Her duties as principal are many, and she is always busy. But as Dr. Ferguson sees it, her most improtant duty is to see that the students get the best education possible. We are sure that the Warren Easton Eagles appreciate all her efforts. Dr. Ferguson is very school spirited herself. She at- tends all the school activities and enjoys joining in the fun. Her work day is filled with conferences and never- ending paperwork But there is always time to enjoy being an Easton Eagle, and to watch a pep ralley or a break dancing contest. 18

ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS Working hard for us Ms. Demas attended Fisk University in Virginia and the University of New Or- leans. The belief that Warren Easton is one of the best schools in the city prompt- ed Ms. Demas to move from the Chemis- try department to the Assistant Principals post she now holds. She anticipates a great school year, with new leadership, new ideas and success at every turn. Mr. Sam Mondello is a 1946 Graduate of Warren Easton. He majored in Science at both LSU and Southeastern University. Mr. Mondello also feels that Easton is one of the finest schools in the city, and he hopes to see the school continue to im- prove. Mr. Armand Devezin is our newest As- sistant Principal. He attended Southern, Xavier and Loyola Universities, majoring in English Education and Administration. Mr. Devezin believes this is going to be a really successful school year, and knows that Easton is one of the best schools in the city. Our Assistant Principals are busy all day, with stu- dents' schedules, the ever dreaded demerits, confer- ences and just plain work. But they all take time out to smile, and make someone feel better about a problem. 19
