Aubmitted bp; Jjattie 70c( lord When we consider the universality of mankind; when we consider man’s efforts to bridge the gap of com- munication through his conquest of space and distance, then we realize the great necessity for individuals to understand one another. If we, as learners and as educators, can convince but a few of our fellowmen to cast aside the veil of ignorance, shortsightedness, and bias in thinking, which so cloud one’s reasoning and im- pede one’s intellectual progress, then we can truthfully assume that we have worked to further the cause of real education. Like the venturous one who believes in man’s infinite perfectibility, in his innate impulse to grow in knowledge, in grace, in wisdom, in consideration for others, and in gentle pity, we, too, might conclude the following: I trod o’er endless lands and streams, Pondered countless shelves of books, Set out to fathom humanity’s deep sea; . . . and I discovered Man! 4 - 10 MRS. MAINTENANCE STAFF 71 CAFETERIA STAFF 71 23 EAGLE STAFF 1971 Our theme for this year is Togetherness. Dur- ing my three years at Easton, have experienced this togetherness. Everyone shows a willingness to reach out and give a helping hand to someone who needs assistance or just a kind word. Throughout the world we need to come together and destroy the things that keep us from our hap- piness. We need to abolish student unrest and wars that take the lives of our young men. As Americans, we should make it our goal to share our love and contentment with all the world. What everyone in the world wants and needs but never gets is friendship. Raquel Martinez 26 Wc almost have it!! It’s got to be here . . . We will uphold her colors purple and gold. And cheer her name up to the sky — RAH! RAH! RAH! On every play we’re marching forward. It won’t be long before we score. We’ll send a man around the end to fool them. Then hit the line until we overrule them. We’ve got the stuff that makes us tough, HEY! Easton is the champion today! 32 ALMA MATER Warren Easton marches onward, through victory and defeat.
