Future Foreigners The Spanish Club mainly helps an indigent girl in Guatemala. Her name is Ilaria Cruz Calderon. The club has an enjoyable Electric Nightmare Concert annually. lThe concert is said to shock you. The French Club has fund-rais- ing activities in the fall and spring to enhance and give support to learning of the French culture. The club is planning to attend a Na- tional French contest and sponsor a spring festival. Geniuses A ork The Math Club works on hard complicated problems that they don't have time to do in their Math Classes. The club is organized by Mrs. Campbell. Bill Waldron, Jim- my Pugh, and Jim Samborsky at- tended the Eighth Annual Autumn Math Contest at JMU on Novem- ber 4. Jim Samborsky placed 2nd in individual competition and Bill Waldron placed Sth. The club wishes to make Science a hobby at WCHS. They sponsor the Science Fair held annually at WCHS in the spring. Service Is The Ke The Key and Keyette Clubs are service clubs sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. The members are involved students who handle responsibil- ity well. They were both very busy this year. Some of their activities were Pancake Day, Christmas caroling at a local nursing home, and a trip to the UVA game with their Kiwanis sponsors. The Keyettes started a new tradition this year by having a Kiddie Carnival at the Festival of Leaves. They also received a plaque of thanks from the Anti-Litter Council for being the anti-litter bunny at the Jaycee Fair. Both clubs are also involved with the school. They Keys had their annual faculty basketball game and the Keyettes decorated the teacher's lounge for Christmas. These clubs did all of their activities with dedication and enthusi- asm.
